[Discussion]When was RuneScapes best years to you & Why?

I think 2010-2012 are my favorite years.

 

2011 was my favorite year. I made my own dicing fc, made a couple hundred mil from it. Pre-eoc days were the best

 

2011-2012 for sure

 

2004-2006 prolly

 

2011. Staking was booming and there was no such thing as getting banned for RWT. I was selling billions of gp on a weekly basis, directly off my main account to various Gold merchants or through PA. Life was good.

 

2002-2004.

RS2 completely ruined the game for me until about 2010. By 2010 I just didn't care anymore.

Wish I played back then to see how it really was.

 

2006-2007. I don't remember much of it as I was a kid, but I remember I use to have a lot of fun.

Also, 2011-2012 was pretty fun too.

 

2005-2008 I had the most enjoyable time as a kid playing Runescape. I still remember how ignorant my dad was thinking Runescape was giving him viruses on one of our computers when in reality my sister had downloaded hundreds of songs off Limewire back in the day and completely fucked two of our computers. (Obviously she didn't know what anti virus/shit like that was I was like 10 she was a stupid 17 year old girl). Still, had loads of fun playing with my friends.

 

My dad didn't think it gave the computer viruses but he absolutely loathed the everlasting shit out of Runescape. I remember getting so mad at my dad for making me get off right at the end of a Barb Assault game for bed (it was the weekend and only like 10:30 pm)...I snuck downstairs to play and got caught lol.

 

Yeah I feel ya, when I was at my Dad's I used to do the same and stay up for hours. Like I said only reason he thought it was viruses is because there were actually a substantial amount of them on that computer. Does anyone else remember playing the mini games on Runescape as well that were on like the top left corner? I always used to play those with my Dad when I was in like third grade 2002-2003ish online (My dad has bad memory so he didn't correlate us playing on Runescape's site beforehand when I continuously played it later)

 

Right before to about 2 years after the release of Rs2. That was just so much fun.

 

2003-2007 were the best years for me.. so many memories.

 

09, Had so many IRL And In-Game friends, but the fun was completely took out of the game, kind of miss it :c

it may sound like a crazy conspiracy theory, but coinshare slowly killed the economy... spins killed the game and eoc topped it off

 

castle wars was bloody brilliant. I'd sit and play games out of nothing but enjoyment 6 hours a day.

for me, 2005-2006ish was best. it's when I played this game out of enjoyment and it wasn't always about those gains for moi

 

I liked different periods for different reasons.

Pking was great for me from the day the hand cannon was released till the day the wild turned in to a day-care center. My kdr with that thing was like 20:1 as it was so hilariously overpowered.

I also miss Falador world 2 merchanting obby shields, furys and d chains.

But pretty much any time before micro transactions and the unbelievably bad combat system were great in my eyes.

 

I enjoyed 2002 - 2008. 2009 - 2011 wasn't too bad, but there were so much fucking bots.
