[Drink] Various - Sodas From India (+England +Pakistan)

I went into an Indian store last month and I was overwhelmed with the amount of items they had, and how I didn't know what I'd do with any of them. Scared, I resorted to soda.

Price paid: $1.40 or so per bottle / can



Sorry for the censorship, I had to respect the privacy of the people in the background. No one was letting me take pics in peace that day.

I have a lot to do, so let's get started.

Vimto "Sparkling fruit flavoured drink" it says on the can. The best way I could describe it was as Fanta and everyone agreed. It was like a very bitter Fanta blend, but it reminded me of Fanta for some reason. Maybe I don't have many fruit sodas to fall back on. Bitter Strawberry? Looked at the Wiki. Raspberry is what I was thinking of. This product is from England. Low 4/5

Sosyo is a fruit flavoured drink as well. I think it's actually an ass-flavored drink. Avoid this at all costs. This product is from India, and has a nice, short history to it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sosyo 0/5

Thums Up is a drink I didn't realize spelled "Thumbs" incorrectly until now. I bought it because I thought it would taste like Dr. Pepper. It's now made by Coca-Cola, but I don't recall if I saw the logo on the bottle I bought. It has a strong spice taste, much stronger than Dr. Pepper and it tastes like a spiced Cola. It seems to be very dominant in India. This product is from India. Slightly high 4/5

Editors note: Had Thums Up again. This time the spice tasted like a strong "Indian" flavor spice. Not sure what spice it is because I don't care to look into it, but the soda didn't taste very good.

Limca is a drink I thought said Limea. It's a lemon-lime drink that would best be described as a lime-lemon drink. It tastes just like Lucas lemon-lime salt.



Limca is made by Coca-Cola and the Coca-Cola brand is on the label. This product from India. 4/5, oddly enough.

Pakota is an ice cream soda and is Pakistan's favorite cream soda. Of all the cream sodas I've had, this is the worst. It does have an odd quality of tasting somewhat better after you've had cookies (Oreos), but the aftertaste is still horrible. This product is from Pakistan. Low 1/5

So if you're in India, stick to Coca-Cola products.
If you're in England, Vimto would be fine.
If you're in Pakistan, get out of Pakistan. (Just kidding, but avoid Pakota)

That's all, next product will hopefully be a food review if I'm not lazy.

Theres a different type of vimto here (different packaging atleast) and it's awesome. you should try Irn-bru if you're in the US.

 

I looked it up and I like the old-school look of India's version better. That said, I wonder if they taste the same. They probably do.

Some nice variety here. Limca seems like something id enjoy.

 

I love my cream soda, but if you tried this it would change everything you know about country-specific cream sodas. It makes me cautious about trying the African cream soda that I've been meaning to try when I find it.

 

Yeah it was actually finished first, followed by Thums Up then Vimto. The other two were discarded. I didn't dare drink more of the Sosyo.

 

Well after looking a video about it, it sounds quite terrible, maybe there are some bad cream sodas out there. But my first response to bright ass green colored cream soda is to throw it away.

 

crazy 20$ to get it in the US haha, its 49p (about 70 cents) a can here.

I guess it's a bit like lucky charms though. I buy them from an american candy store in the city for $8 a box. fell in love with them on holiday in florida

Yeah there are a few places in the U.S. that sell it, but yes it was quite expensive for the person who bought it lol.

Paying $8 for Lucky Charms is something I never thought I'd hear about or read. Lucky Charms isn't even that great haha.

 

The arabic vimto is absolutely amazing. Pretty sure it's the same since it has the same design.

 

Very likely it's the same. It's not bad, but I wouldn't buy it unless I were in a country that sold it.

 

I'm pretty sure vimto is manufactured in Britain? maybe i'm wrong.

 

Does the Sosyo have that murky, blue color? Or is that from the bottle?

 

The soda was a very dark purple-black. The blue is just a full-bottle wrapper lol. It even had a fancy top on it lemme see if I took a pic of it.
