Are Guns Okay?

This provokes physical violence, which at often times cannot be stopped by people of weaker strength. Guns don't have to be used to be effective. The object itself displays intimidation that nullifies any aggresors with the intent of violent provocation, or conflict.

 

No, people cant handle having so much power and end up destroying their lifes because they were frustrated for a minute and regret it for the rest of their life.

 

So the police/army should be unarmed? Good idea, let's do that! But only if the army/police is unarmed before the public.

 

Yes, There's nothing wrong with guns in my opinion. When people say guns kill people it ticks me off because its not the gun that kills someone its the person in control of the gun, If guns were to be made illegal then it wouldn't do anything but take the citizens 2nd amendment. Criminals are in control of the firearm when shooting someone. Criminals don't follow the law and they wouldn't follow the law if a gun ban were to be made, There is always going to be a black market. I do agree that when purchasing a firearm you need to have a background check that way it will be harder for the criminals to get a gun, And if you have got any abusive charges(battery, domestic abuse, etc) within 2 years then I believe you don't deserve to own a firearm.

 

Guns are okay if used for self defense. The ones who are to blame are the people behind the trigger.

Whether or not we agree wont change the fact that guns exist in this world

 

In my opinion people should be allowed guns, i mean if you're that worried about others having them being dangerous etc, get one yourself.
Its a free world, whos to say someone cant have something?

In saying that. obviously requirments should be in place.
Such as i.d / background check.

 

Have no problem with people owning guns, just need to be in the right hands, used as protection and nothing else.

I used to be entirely against the possession of firearms. Now, I'm more fond of the idea. But I'm not sure what changed my mindset.

From what I have seen, lots of European countries don't arm their policemen and that that policy is doing more good than bad. However, if we were to do that here in America, it'd be total mayhem because we can't get rid of all personal weapons to make it safe. There is no going back on the Amendment II. There are so many gun-friendly people that refuse to give up their right, that we would never be able to clear guns from homes.

As to why I think guns are okay... If guns are so easily purchased, I may as well have one too to protect myself. But I think people should only be allowed to purchase a gun if they take a firearm safety class first. So many people shoot themselves or others on accident. Burglars sometimes even manage to get a hold of a firearm aimed at them. People aren't safe enough, and people certainly don't know enough.

An escaped felon could easily obtain a firearm. All they have to do is go to a gun show, reveal their license, and purchase a gun. They don't have to do anything else for 3 days. But if someone is intending to do harm, why would they wait more than 3 days to do it?

Guns are okay, but the laws could definitely use some improving. I'm not sure how, but either way, some people are so stubborn on the fact that it is their right to have a gun that they don't care about the safety involved. With all the stalemate arguments about guns, I don't see any improvement happening any time soon.

 

Any mentally sound person who can pass a class and get a license should be able to have a gun. I cannot imagine NOT owning a gun. Just the other day one of my friends had their house broken into while they were sleeping; they got away with a laptop. If someone broke into my place, game over man. And all those school shootings? Honestly every teacher should have a handgun and have to take training classes. So many lives could have been saved in every situation if the teachers had hand guns.

 

They should be allowed. You know everything can be used as a weapon. Knives, fists (you can punch someone really hard), chairs, cars, buckets, shovels, syringes, throwing a brick, a computer, beat someone with practically anything. THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED and if you're an american stand up for your constitutional rights.

 

Even without guns murder will happen.

 

Civilians shouldn't be allowed to use guns at all. That's one reason how ammunition falls in the wrong hands at times.

Making them illlegal won't stop anything after all. There would just be more illegal guns around and less responsibility
I guess it's fine to have a gun for "self protection" but i wouldn't feel safe if someone i know has access to guns anytime
