can bitcoins/cryptocurrency be charged back?

I'm looking to start selling gold, but I've heard the numerous horror stories of dealing with virtual currency via PayPal, and I was wondering: 1) can cryptocurrency be charged back? 2) how would I get started with cryptocurrency like what wallet should I use and what do I need to know before getting into it and how can I transfer it back and forth from BTC to cash etc.

 

BTC cannot be chargebacked, it's like rsgp. In order to cash the money , you can either contact some people who would exchange it for PP funds or whatever payment you prefer.

 

1) No, absolutely impossible to chargeback. (BTC specifically, there are many cryptocurrencies and while I *believe* none can be charged back I cannot speak with 100% accuracy)

2)I would recommend NOT using any sort of an online wallet. These would be wallets kept on LocalBTC, any type of exchange, etc.
Pick a wallet that is stored on your own machine and make USB or even other-device backups of it. Encrypt it.
My preferred wallet is Multibit but there are many, do your research!

As for transferring it back and forth, I would attempt to contact people here at Sythe, other BTC forums, or use the "gold standard" -- LocalBTC

PayPal and Skrill have a chance of chargeback.

 

An option if you want to be cashed out directly via paypal in a relatively safe way, would be to have a bitcoin trader from Sythe middleman the trade, accepting your rs gold and the buyers bitcoin, and then giving the gold to the buyer and sending you a payment per paypal.

 

Lol. Or just cut the middleman. Sell RS gold for BTC, then trade BTC for PayPal later. No need for the middleman.

dis/10 Bitcoin is the safest way to trade. The rate however might throw you down sometimes but its mainly in the $300s

 

It can't be charged back, just be careful of the prices though. They tend to change a lot.
