    Accepted to FbStart

Hey everyone! I just wanted to announce that I was recently accepted into Facebook's FbStart program. FbStart is a program that looks for emerging startups in App Development that are looking for funding and support.

As part of the FbStart program, Facebook and its sponsors have awarded me with $23,000 worth of software and services!

I'm really excited about the news and just wanted to let everyone on Sythe know.

You can check out what I've been doing with my iOS apps by clicking any of the links in my signature.

So you got $23,000 at your disposal to make your app? What does Facebook get from this? A percentage of revenue off your app or something?

It's $23,000 worth of software and services. They provide this because they want to create the next big startup.

Yeah people can back the app on kickstarter... they get stuff in response to that. It's not begging, it's selling.

Interesting, so is applying and getting accepted pretty competitive? Sounds quite interesting actually. So if you do create a successful app, you get some profit from it as well right?

EDIT: Gratz by the way! :D

You have to apply and they review all of the apps for potential. My app is actually free so I am not getting much profit from it (just from ads).

    Thanks!

So they just give you this, there is no obligation for you to owe them anything in return?

Sounds cool man, so your app has already been developed? What app is it if you don't mind me asking.

The app I submitted to FbStart (and which was accepted) is called MyMigraine. It is for people who get migraines, and it allows them to track their headaches and then analyzes the data and tells them what their trigger(s) is/are.

If you donate you get the game for free. Higher paying donors get additional hints to use in the game.

It is not a "connect the dots game" it's actually a challenging puzzle game based on graph theory.

I'm not begging for people to do it, but if someone is the kind of person who donates to kickstarter projects it would be cool to look at.

You sound like someone who hates on others due to their own failings.

Congrats man, it's good to see lone developers ( such as myself ) checking new ways to promote their ideas and gaining interest from big names.

What are the terms? Do they own a percentage of your app?

FB ads for my app. With Facebook you can run ads for just $1 a day, which is around 300 - 400 impressions. So the $100 could get around 35,000 people to see my app.
