    The way I look at it, somebody having more IP/RP than you really doesn't adversely affect you in the slightest (more runes/rune pages.. oh no.) It was nice having the option to buy referrals and get a large amount of IP/RP for cheap.

    Their problem with it was the bots in live games. Rito pretty much hinted they didnt care until bots showed up in pvp games.

    Advisory: I don't play league but I do follow gaming news.

    This, pretty much. From what I've read it was cool when the bots were just abusing private games, but once they started popping up in newbie queues and stuff then they started having problems with it because it directly effected players in the game.
