Runescape Chronicle (Card Game)

Lol so saw this was announced at Runefest, it's sort of funny how Jagex tries to emulate anything Blizzard does. You can't really deny elements of EoC invariably came from World of Warcraft. Now, Runescape Chronicle is going to come out, not too long after Blizzard's hit card-game Hearthstone.

What do you think? I don't see it surviving long without extensive advertising, something Jagex has proven to be inept at in the past.



I'll give it a chance though, I'm hopeful it can be a decent time waster but I doubt it'll be very good.

 

I can see it becoming slightly popular to some users, but it honestly doesn't look like something I would wanna play.

 

It's blatantly worse than Hearthstone, so it won't survive. Jagex isn't going to get anywhere by copying the competition.

 

Lol, first they copied abilities and now this. I hope this is released for androids and I will give it a try.

 

I'll give it a shot. As others have mentioned, it's not exactly a novel idea, but it doesn't look terrible. Might be something to do when I'm wasting time between classes or something.

 

Magic: The Gathering came before Hearthstone, so I don't know why people keep pointing out that Chronicle came from Hearthstone. Whatever, someone's making a buck.

I don't think I'll get into Chronicle though, mostly because I don't want to get involved in another game. I already spend too much time on RuneScape as it is. I've never really been into card games, besides Pokemon. And even then, I wasn't really a fan of playing. I just liked to collect the cards (and somewhat still do, I have a ton and will buy more every so often).

I do like how you can play it simultaneously with Runescape. Could make skilling less tedious.

& Yankiee just look at the cards rofl, look like spitting image of Hearthstone cards. Plays nothing like it, but aesthetically looks like it.

 

Jagex doesn't really need to advertise if you think about it.

Look at all the famous youtubers and streamers. They're literally advertising the game for them by posting videos of content.

Therefore, no real need to advertise on Jagex part.

OT: This looks very interesting and I'll have to try it out.

Theoretically, yes, but efficiently, not so much. I feel like a card game like this would be easier to play while afking Runescape.

 

Seem's like all their new games they invent suck. Maybe with enough attempts they'll hit it right. I'll defiantly be giving it a go but it's hard to not be sceptical.

 

They should let us be able to import our characters into the game. Like you go to the Photo Booth in the gear you want in the card game and import your character into the game. That'd be badass.

 

Needs like 500+ more cards to have any chance of success.

 

In the end they're just tryna keep adding to eoc so people don't say they don't care about the game, I hope this helps add to the boring skilling tho

 

When is it released?

 

card games are so 2000, theres no chance in hell it will make it due to the market being so limited.
