Most MM's won't transfer the name. It's too easy to get framed for a transaction like that. They will treat it as an account trade and transfer the account to the buyers' details. You will be responsible for the transferring of the name.

 

Once you are in hold of the account; if someone were to even recover it, it would take atleast an hour? Can you transfer the name safely by than? Do you just trade names? How does it work

 

You could probably attempt to transfer the name in that amount of time yes, but I would highly encourage you to NOT transfer a name right after you buy it. It's the easiest and most predictable time for someone to snipe it, and since the account would be in your possession you would be the one liable for transfer, meaning that the seller doesn't have to refund you if the name gets sniped.

To transfer a name you will need to have 2 bonds on the account with the name you want to transfer and an available name change / bond on the account you want the name on. You should be logged into the account that has the name on it and also be logged into the runescape website (not game) on the account you want the name on viewing the account section of the site with the name you are trying to transfer already typed out and ready to be claimed, change the name twice in game with your bonds, then as soon as you have changed it twice click change name on the website and accept it. You should be able to get it with no issues near-instantly if there is nobody trying to snipe it.
