Wow you really have one? Nice. You say drip is it coolant, oil, fuel? What color is it? And can you see the general area of origin? Pics help 90% more if you can. It's okay if you can't as well

Does this noise vibrate the steering wheel? If not does it sound like a rattling sound of something loose or is it a solid noise everytime.

Can you tell where it is coming from. Example front driver side

    Make: GMC
    Model: Yukon AWD
    Year: 05
Problem: Slight quick grinding noise when front wheels spin (such as when accelerating on snow). Has not made the sound entire summer of driving on dry pavement. Front diff or maybe CV joint? Looked briefly underneath when changing the oil and it looked like it was sweatin oil in that area.

Was there oil on the diff wasn't sure if that's what you meant. Has it been leaking? you seem to know how to change oil so this one will be easy for you. Assuming it's the diff we will check that first.

-Pop off the FILL bolt of the differential (top bolt most likely Allen key to get it open) Make sure you DON'T take the bottom bolt out. And have a pan ready in case it leaks or drips a little. Shouldn't be any or much.

    -Vehicle off

-stick your finger in the fill hole and make sure you can feel for the diff fluid. If you can feel it look at the color. Honey looking is best.

-Rub it between your fingers and feel if it is grity and kind of a sandy feeling. (checking for damage/ pieces of metal). If its nasty you might as well replace it to be honest you can get an even better look to metal or damage. If it is gritty or sandy feeling then there is most likely damage.

Possible problems I can think of from your description-
*Brakes are Starting to get low and the safety metal happened to rub.

*CV joint if the boot is torn at all it needs to be replaced or that will lead to a SERIOUS problem. ( snapping at the ball joint while driving.. happened to me)

*Traction control- either kicking in or there is an issue with it engaging and trying to even out power to all wheels.

*transfer case- same issue as diff could be low oil, damaged, or not working properly when it needs to disperse power.

Check your differential first and we will go from there and narrow it down. There are some others but we will go with the major issues that tend to happen first.

*Also does your traction control light come on? or have you ever have issues with it?

Just replaced all brake pads and rotors last night so maybe that'll help. The noise sounds like it comes from the front passengers side which is the side I saw the oil sweating, I'll have to look underneath as I didn't pay much attention to where exactly the oil was sweating out, but it looked like where the passenger cv connects to the axle if I remember correctly.

I'm writing this from my phone so I'll address all of this and check the diff oil later.

Alright when you get a chance let me know how it goes. Also a trick I use is spraying down the entire area with engine degrease'r and let it sit a minute then spray it off. After that the source of any leak should be easier to find.

Also if you have trouble finding it. Dirt and dust is your friend, The cleaner area in a dirty under body of a vehicle is an easy way to spot leaks.

*With the degrease'r do not spray the exhaust or headers. It will smoke a little bit if you do but that is just the hot part burning the spray that didn't get washed away off.
