Risks of buying gold?

I'm sorry if this isn't the right place, I just haven't been on here in yeeaars and was wondering how Jagex is about punishing people buying gold (less than 500m)

I'm worried about the sellers account being flagged and jagex banning any character who interacted with it. Can anybody share some experiences with me? I'd really appreciate some feedback.

As far as I know buying gold is pretty sure. Accounts very hardly get banned for RWT.

 

I lost several billion in 2007 for selling my rares. I was stupid enough to do it on my main

I believe there is very little tracking on RWT on runescape, although I would say if they were to somehow catch you and know it was RWT, then it would be a simple account ban.

 

I've bought billions from Arcus. Bought 2-3b at the time on multiple occasions, I mostly received the GP on F2P worlds and I've never been banned. They don't really care about the buyers as far as I know. I would imagine that the buyers would complain here on Sythe if they were getting banned after buying gold from resellers. I'm yet to see that happen.

 

Buying gold is no risk only selling is risky

 

If you buy under 300m Rs3, your really at no risk, buying or selling. At 300+ it starts getting riskier for sellers, but with buyers you still have very little risk.

 

There is close to zero risk for the buyers. Jagex focuses their effort to crack down on the seller though. You should be safe buying small amounts.

 

Jagex may catch you for rwt

And remeber to use a trustful middleman on gold buys.

 

The risk is very low tho when buying.

 

As far as I'm aware (from personal experience), it's usually the 'big guys' that are targeted for RWT. I've not heard of them chasing down the small time, once in a blue moon buyers after suspending a major seller. So unless you have billions flowing through your account in an obvious manner, I don't believe there's an imminent risk. Whilst there still may be somewhat of a risk, I don't believe it's significant enough to deter you from buying RSGP.

 

Risk is quite small, hardly see any people get banned for rwting nowadays. Only if you are trading very high amounts like billions everyday the risk increases.

 

I don't believe there is big risk [ Unless you do really big trades often ]. i for some reason once got warning once but it was automatic and never happened again

 

I believe your risk is little to none, I've had friends buy billions of GP over the space of 1y+ and they've never had an issue. From what I know they're only really after people like Arcus and R2Pleasent (the big guys). Maybe you should avoid big resellers and just try to buy of someone who doesen't RWT often on PlayerAuctions or on Sythe if you can find someone, you'll probably get a better price doing that too.
