    Thoughts on RS 3?

Haven't started playing RS3 yet, but what is it like?

Are partyhats a thing still? If so, are rares really hard to find? It's been so long since they were originally released in the game :x

How is the community? Still a bunch of 12 year olds?

Partyhats are still around. They're still rather "expensive" but since gold is worth so little now, I guess they aren't super rare anymore either. You can see plenty of them on heads in any world. Rares aren't really considered rare. The community is decent. Clans seem to be the biggest interest, as everyone is basically in a clan. There are a bit of older players, but there are still a bunch of players that are immature assholes. The lot of them are okay from what I've experienced.

@Alex, yup same here bro. I stopped playing RS since the EoC updates and haven't played since. Logged on just to check my account for the first time in two years or so lol. So are you playing OSRS then?

    Thoughts on RS 3?

I also quit shortly after the release of EoC and only made a return a few weeks back, started on 07 but after a week it just started to fry my head, sure it was fun for a bit of nostalgia but RS3 is the game that's going to continually evolve.

I'd like to point out Legacy mode to OP if you don't already know about it, basically it makes the game the way it was pre-eoc (interfaces, stances, special attacks etc.) This has brought a lot of people back. There's worlds for Legacy Only, but you can also choose to use legacy on any server.

Only way to find out if you'll like it is to try it out yourself. I personally enjoy it.

    Thoughts on RS 3?

I came back a few days ago, and was trying out EoC in comparison to Legacy and I do like legacy mode--since it's similar to pre EoC. However, I quit two years ago and after coming back--I just don't feel like playing anymore. It's not bad, but I think I'd rather play other MMOs and games tbh. As for, original combat, it's alright. I did try it and it has the general mechanisms of a Hokey-fighting based system, but not quite a hack-and-slash and just a point-and-click MMO.

    Thoughts on RS 3?

I would make a note to try both legacy mode and the rs3/eoc
Mode. Both have different play styles and perks and lead to different experiences. Once you find your preference you should join a clan and make some friends who do what you do :)

    Thoughts on RS 3?

I personally enjoy it. I played RS from ~2004 to 2008 or so, then took a break until right after EoC came out (2012). It's a lot to get used to, but there are a lot of advantages to RS3 combat/skilling.

As others have recommended, I'd suggest trying legacy mode as well. Hope you have fun!

    Thoughts on RS 3?

I deviate from Old School Runescape and Runscape 3.

Funnily enough, whichever one I'm playing more at the time, I come to hate the other version, thinking it is boring & stupid.

Pretty strange, but it happens to me all the time. For example, I'm mostly in 2007 right now, and when I log into Rs3 idk what to do and am bored.

    Thoughts on RS 3?

Luckily all the 12 year olds migrated to osrs.

    #cheers

Rs3 community is really good, lots of egotist (just ignore them) other then that its really really nice to have a very slim to none scamming/hacking community.

    and definitely barely any bots.

    12 year olds > Egotists

I also don't really agree that they're 12 either most 07 players are people that...you know..played in 07. So they were 5 years old when they started Runescape then? Interesting.

Eh, RS3 is kinda fucked graphics wise, so I stick to Legacy, partyhats are worth a lot, and so are most rares, but no point in having them :O
