I do think corp would be a nice feature, id really like to see the divine spirit shield pass though since thats pretty much the only one i want but i guess thats not gonna happen because too many people say its too op..I dont think corp is the update this game needs they could come up with something fresh and not something we all seen before

People talk about the shields being overpowered, yet on pre-eoc the only people who where able to use it was who had an extra 1B laying around.
Do you think corp is a necessary update for the game? well not "necessary", but it's something refreshing.

 

What ended up happening with the shield vote? I saw that it was literally like half a percent from passing, are they re-polling it or something?

Nevermind, I went and saw it barely passed, thank god. While it may be a bit OP, they could always add more content unique to Old School like a boss or something to test its limits.

 

Jagex needs to bite the bullet and see that the polls that are just not passing by a few percent and put them in anyway. Without updates the game's dead and the ones that dont pass by a few percent, in the longrun really should have been added.

Things like the barbarian assault legs that proposed to have added that only failed by a few percent? There is no reason for that not to be put in, it rewards people to play a minigame, to keep it live content.

Yeah people always need torsos and hats, but that just gives it another item to get people over to ba and play

 

I wouldn't mind it in the game. Just more economy flow and possibly more players.

I don't really know the details of the shields so I can't really answer but sounds like one of them are OP compared to others.

I don't think it's necessary. Wish they'd come out with new, unique bosses for 07 rather than copying what RS3 has.

It's because they want to keep the authenticity of the game. It's understandable that some players want to keep the game how it is. This game isn't meant to grow the way people expect it too. The game is meant for those who played runescape before.

Yeah, I really liked the spirit shields. I always used one back in the day.

Yeah, but I think a nerf/reduction of the effectiveness of a few of the effects wouldn't hurt.

No, not at all. It's an extra bit of fun but they don't really need to add it. It is true that 07 needs fresh content to keep it's players entertained but I don't think this is the best option. I would have spent more time on the bounty hunter update and maybe added or thought of another activity perhaps.

Is it necessary? No. But I'm glad as hell it and shields passed. Going corp killing with my friends will be loads of fun. Hopefully they fix the DCing by then.

Maybe, the thing is that if they come in they'll be liek 500m 07 each and completely op so it depends..

First thing's first, I don't play 07 anymore.

However I am wondering how many of the people replying actually did corp or experienced the divine spirit shield. Seeing as there's no overloads, or ancient prayers, fat chance you'll be able to do it with less than 15 maxed players. And even then, a lot of deaths will occur. Even with overloads and ancient prayers, it was seriously tough to beat someone with a divine shield. Back in the day, with the weird fungus armor that gave you insanely high defenses and magic resistance, we needed 4-6 players to camp corp for a few kills. And even then, a few players died.

If you want the opinion of someone who had a dss and did corp. No, I wouldn't want corp or dss in old school. You'd have to release ancient prayers and overloads first, then we won't be much different to pre eoc without the g.e. It seems this thread is more full of players who are hoping for a divine drop, and none who had much experience with this subject.

 

FYI Divine had it's own separate question and didn't pass. The only shields we're getting are Spectral, Arcane and Elysian.

 

If corp got added to the game, I might consider buying an 07 acc and training it up. Back in the day I always dreamed of having a divine, I thought they were the sickest thing ever. So I'd vote yes to everything.

Do you think corp is a necessary update for the game? Necessary? no. I'd much rather see original boss content being developed; for example the kraken boss or smoke devil boss that were created. I've never liked corp (actually, i hate all monsters that are insanely hard to kill and have a 1/20k drop rate of their uniques, but that's just me probably), but i certainly won't vote no to corp updates selfishly just so that those who do like it will not get the updates. Personally i love the shields; elly has always been my favorite because of how it looks so i've nothing vs the shields.

 

Corps already passed the polls so we're def getting it. Don't know when it will be released though.
