Ebola-Infected Patient Let Go from Hospital

It's quite crazy that he's let go so quickly after facing this nasty disease. He himself said he didn't think he was going to make it. I assumed he'd be in there for awhile to get cured.

What do you guys think?

 

Better make damn sure he's clean. I don't understand why people are still allowed to travel out of those countries right now.

 

It's their right to do so. I believe that's the main reason they allow it.

 

Well, looking at the situation with respect for human life, they couldn't just keep him in there forever.

Rick Sacra has recovered from the virus. He was released from the hospital following that fact, not because of his rights.

 

If they are on vacation, they should be allowed to return to their homes with proper care.

 

Yes, as stated above he was cured from Ebola at Medical Center. However, I'm not sure if he's susceptible to get it again.

 

Yeah they can't just keep him there like wtf if hes better than its fine.

And on your other comment, ebola could be a pretty big issue in the Africa, theres almost a non existent chance of it becoming widespread in other areas, but it could get pretty fucking bad in Africa...

 

Agreed. Our country has a considerably strong (albeit expensive) health care system, if the virus begins to become a serious threat to the safety of the nation I foresee major quarantines of cities or even states, not to mention the halting of international and interstate flights(which should've been done already imho). Places like Liberia, Africa, etc have a much more serious issue than we do.

However, we have seen outbreaks of the Ebola virus in multiple occasions throughout history. I find it highly unlikely we won't be able to stop it again.

Its not a simple scare tactic when people are getting infected and dropping dead. Granted there may be some fear mongering by the media to drum up some more stories, but that doesnt take away from the gravity of the situation.

OT Im pretty sure if people dont fuck around and do something stupid this ebola thing is done. Keep the potentially infected quarentined and we are good. The diseases incubation period isnt too long so we look to be in good shape.

Inb4 they let someone who is infected back on a plane to travel all over the fucking place and come back.

I think that they shouldn't risk other people aswell. Also i think it would be good to restrict traveling [disable traveling from ebola countries to other countries] some country already did it

 

The common flu is more infectious than Ebola - everyone freaking out are the same people that thought swine flu or bird flu was gonna wipe us out.

People are only infectious when they have the symptoms. If he has been cured of Ebola, then clearly he doesn't have the symptoms.
