Id like to spark some conversations on the ongoing assault on ISIS in Syria and the ongoing assault going on in Iraq by ISIS. Have you been keeping up with the videos ISIS has been releasing? What do you think the outcome of all of this will be? and of course the only question that's interesting Do you agree with this show of force from the United states? I am a medically retired Military and ive been to Iraq and Afghanistan. I saw the wars upclose I did my time got injured and got out. In my time in the service Yes i did see some things I wish I could unsee just because of having some Morals.

But lets get down to Sythe user thoughts: Do you agree with the ongoing Airstrike campaign taking place in Syria and Iraq?

This is just a discussion thread on the Ongoing conflicts going on in the world today.

 

Airstrikes kill more terrorists.
More terrorist killed = increase anti-American sentiment.
The martyrdom effect means increased anti-American sentiment and increased terrorists killed means increased recruits.
Increased recruits means more terrorists to kill.

It's a perpetual cycle of violence.

When you fight fire with fire, everything burns to the ground.

 

To be honest with you, I've got two very different views on the airstrikes that have been taking place in Syria and Iraq.

My first view of the whole situation is that the United States must do this to assert their dominance, and to show that they will not back down from this fight. I feel as if they're trying to scare ISIS away with all of these airstrike missions, but instead, all they're doing is fueling the fire and escalating this situation to a higher level of severity.

For my second view, I think that the members of ISIS are absolutely mental, and nothing is going to stop them from wanting to senselessly murder all of the "non-believers." Looking at the situation with this scenario in mind, the airstrike campaigns are absolutely useless, and nothing is going to stop ISIS.

Just my two cents on the whole problem.

 

Very good points But look at it like this, What would have happened if America just sat back and let our people and British citizens get there heads brutally cut off.

There needed to be some sort of action on Americas side to show that we dont take stuff like that lightly, All in all ISIS is merely trying to drag us into a ground war which is not going to happen.

This video was meant just for the purpose to instill fear into Americans

 

I'm going to be completely honest, I think those beheadings are completely staged. You honestly think that if they were real America would just sit back and watch. I mean, have you watched the videos yourself or just read on the news that the guys were beheaded. They're literally just sitting there like it's a regular day getting beheaded. I feel like it's American war propaganda.

It's funny because 200k+ Syrians get killed, no one bats an eye. Thousands of Palestinians get killed, no one bats an eye. ISIS starts moving near American oil rigs in Iraq, "We will not stand for when civilians get killed".

It's all a pile of bullshit.

 

I have watched the video and ive done my own research prisoners of ISIS are subjected to various forms of torture to include Opium addiction. Maybe the reason they were do calm in those videos was because they were on Opium, But im no government official I can say for sure. I'm just throwing points out there. The man who beheaded the men has been identified and all.

 

Unfortunately all the "research" comes from Western media. All of Western media is controlled by the same handful of organizations. Like I said, personally this is all bullshit to get pulled back into another oil war, except this one is a lot less conspicuous than what Bush did with 9/11.

 

I see where your coming from about all the set-ups, But whos to say they actually in fact was a government setup? were the boston bombings a setup? were those 2 teenagers that were chased and gunned down and accused of the bombing really a government prop. Well never really know the actual truth man. Im talking about whats happening right now. Fact of the matter is we are at War theres no turning back.

 

It's not really war when one side is being demolished by the other. For every 1 death on the American side is going to result in 100+ on the other side. But I don't have the time or patience to argue about such an irritating topic. Might come back to this thread tomorrow though if there are more provocative posts.

 

Weve lost 1000s of Americans in the war on terror Not just soldiers but kids. Thats not including the 100,000's mortally wounded from IED's. And lets not forget the war at home PTSD which an estimated 2 Million Combat vets are suffering from.

Im all for the airstrikes, snuff em out. If you wander to darker places on the internet you will find some of the isis videos.. that may sway your opinion a little.

I much prefer airstrikes in this regard than boots on the ground. They started fucking with the US (and generally all western civilization) and will pay. Hopefully in a concise and prompt manner this time around.

 

Where do you take this all from? I mean how do you know that more than 1.000 American people died in this war? Of where did you take that "100.000 mortally wounded"? It just blows my mind how arrogant can some people be with this topic. America is nothing but a government all manipulated by the "big guys". You don't know anything about your government and who is leading it towards this kind of cataclysm yet you talk about killed and wounded people. I don't even understand what your point is, you're trying to say that America isn't the responsible of this war or what are you trying to show us? Why did the US government send soldiers to Georgia ( not the US state but the country )? To fight against Russia. Why do the American Government send soldiers to Iraq,Syria,Iran..? Why did your lovely president ( MISTER BUSH ) kill thousands and thousands of you and yet you followed his instructions, hating the Arabian people and so on. To the point that every Arab must be a terrorist. I've been in the US for 1 year and I didn't like how the Government works. It's just a pile of trash that NO ONE will ever open. Btw I like how America is trying to intimidate Russia threating us saying that if we don't stop the war between Ucraine they will act against us. The US Governments has started to "squeeze" us by telling to Europe to not buy nor sell us nothing. And of course Europe is just not doing *** because they're scared of America and they can't say "OH NO, WE WILL FIGHT AGAINST AMERICA" just because they're scared. No one more than China did came up and say "we're with you, so don't scare out" other countries just ignored this as nothing happened. Just like the WW2 where more than 18 million of russian soldiers died.

Also, there was a video related to this stuff (WW2) and in the video ( It was filmed in the US ) there were so many people who got the question "Who do you think won the WW2"? - People answered that of course Americans did, if they wouldn't cross the Atlantic Ocean then we would've lost the WW2 ( by us I mean Russians ). This was just outrageous and funny to see that people are so damn clueless when it comes to history. Well yeah I can't say that America didn't send some soldiers but come on, we won the WW2 just because Americans crossed the Atlantic Ocean? The US Government is leaded by other people who are just telling Obama what to do. They listen all of your calls and they've got all your info so yeah, believe it or not. You live in a place where politicians and the "high charge" guys know ALL about you and your family.

Thousands of americans were killed in the war on terror, thats a flat out fact.Thats one of the many reasons boots arent on the ground now and we are doing airstrikes against ISIS and its assets (hit some ISIS controlled oil fields last night GF a LOT of income).

And if you are inferring Russia is less of a police state then the US you are simply misinformed and or stupid. Living in the states for a year when you were a kid doesnt tell you shit. I realllly suggest you do some research before you embarass yourself in your rage.

 

I'm actually going to have to side with Krutoi on this one. The Americans were killed because of Bush, there's no doubt about it. When a terrorist organization strikes your country, you don't kill masses of civilians from the terrorist's origin country. Americans seem to have a gun-ho attitude in which it comes to "war" but they never question why they're doing it. It's funny because the "oil rigs" they hit were extremely close to US based ones that were at risk. There are still tons of others across the IS but they're not gonna be touched because nothing American is at risk.

Like I said before, hundreds of thousands dead in Syria, thousands dead in Palestine, no American response. American oil rigs threatened in Iraq, Obama suddenly remembers that "when citizens lives are lost, we will not turn a blind eye".

But honestly if someone has lived in the US their whole life, there's no chance they'll accept or understand anything. Living in an eastern county or any third world country really helps you understand the corrupt institutionalization of the western world.

 

I've always wondered whether history was taught differently to make the country where the history is being taught seem like they won... Now I have my answer. Wonder what the WW2 history books in Germany are like.

I feel our (US) history books are fairly accurate since we look like a dick in them a lot.

Stole TX (and parts of several other states) from Mexico CHECK
Slavery, Oops CHECK
Nuking and killing thousands upon thousands of civilians CHECK

I remember the history books sorta painting Bush sr as a bad guy in the iran contra BS and aftermath as well. Granted im sure theres a FEW omissions, I feel our history books portrayed the US fairly accurately. A brute force ruthless world power.

Regardless our books are clearly not anywhere near as skewed as what they teach in russia lol.

I remember reading about them making some outrageous claims about their space program and accomplishments and teaching them as fact. I can only imagine what else they would lie about lol.
