College Tuition Prices

What are you guys paying for college tuition at the moment?

Undergraduate or graduate school?

 

During my freshman year I went to a private school in Michigan and that was $40k/year.. only went for a semester. Other than that I was taking classes at a community college and that was about $8-10k/year.

 

Community college is around 8k per year at the top end. State school will probably be double that where I am at least.

 

Community Colleges are very nice in price and some can be argued to have some better programs than the Universities nearby

 

i go to virginia tech, out of state tuition; only go there if your parents can financially support you

 

I'm paying 20k a semester right now.

 

I'm in Australia and I pay $10,000 a year, which will equate to $55K at the end of the 5.5 years.

 

University is free in Scotland (whole 4 year degrees).

 

My community college WAS better than University. However, the advantage of County/Community is that in my state they legally have to accept up to 60 credits at the University level. So you pay almost nothing (~5-7K/year) at Community Level and then continue on to University Level (~10K/year).

Either way if you come out with an -actual- degree that starts you off w/ $60K/year you can pay it off in about 1 years time (assuming you have no other fees/payments to be made). Some people could even argue the BS/MS degrees are worth it for that price (BS/MS = 1 extra year for masters [5 years total]).

You just need to... ~.~ I don't like you Roary. Free Uni? I wish... Is the education system decent as well or is it the same as Uni here (Profs are shit and fend for yourself)?

 

I'm paying £9,000 GBP per year (~$14,750 USD) which is the general rate in the UK.

 

Aye, quite good actually. St Andrews is where Prince William went for his education and Edinburgh is one of the best in the UK and arguably globally. The scottish education system is the best in the UK anyways, IMO.

 

Do you have to pay it off immediately after finishing your degree, or not until you earn past a threshold figure? In Australia we have to pay once we earn past $53K AUD.

 

2.45k + fees/semester at UBC, 3.5k at UofT

 

0, the government paid for everything in Finland, you get paid roughly $700 a month.

 

Paid 12K Canadian for my college in Canada.

 

Not paying anything at the moment. University fees, at least for undergrads, are usually paid for by the government in Australia. We later pay them back through tax once we're earning enough money in full time work.

It's in the Philippines, and an international school. Normal price for college here, however, is around $1-2k.
