Due to the fact my IP seems to be flagged, and I keep getting banned left and right, I've decided I might try playing legit (lol). I'm only looking to make a low level ranger for pking and even staking. I'm considering buying a few mill to get me on my way for supplies like knives ect. Any ideas where/what method I should use to train? Thanks in advance.

Depends on what level range/cb you want and if you're doing any other combat skills with it. I'd suggest cows for low levels, it goes fast.

I'd say the highest I wanna go is about 70 for black hides. However with my attention span, I highly doubt I'll be capable of that. What's the best rout to take, iron knives if I'm trying to be cost effective?

Yeah, knives are definitely the most cost effective. Are you F2P or P2P?

It will be p2p. I'm giving myself until Friday to decide if I actually wanna do this, so if I can psych myself up for it I'll buy a few mill plus membership. Not sure of it's worth buying archer ring ect just for training (if imagine not?)

I doubt it would be worth it, too. It's good that it's going to be Members, though, that should make it a lot faster by opening up a plethora of options for training and resources. Don't forget questing, either!

Ah feck I didn't even think about quests of I'm honest haha. With my lack of patients training, comes a lack of patients questing too. What quests do you recommend? Would prayer for Ava's effect my staking as I'd be higher combat level or does that not matter?

This video should help you out on range exp quests. There's about 7 I think.

As far as prayer affecting your staking I don't think it would have too much of an effect, but it will raise your combat for a stat you probably won't use very often in staking. That being said, if you're cb 68 with 23 prayer and you're fighting a 68 with 1 prayer, you're on the losing side of the stat battle.

This has also proven to be a useful resource:

If you're not 100% sure on where you wanna take it, then just quest and skill. By gaining rewards and getting a feel for things you may figure it out.

Quest all you can, more quests is definitely beneficial down the road.

I was contemplating buying a lower level pure, however i know full well the majority of people will scam the account back, so i really can't be bothered going down that road. I know questing will be beneficial but i can't quest at all, so i guess ill be paying someone to quest. Thanks for the comments.

Honestly the hardest part of any quest is getting all the items.

I'd suggest you train STR for staking, it would be useful for you to get 60 attack for DDS, however training ranged and staking isn't that good an idea because it'll increase your combat level.

You also increase hitpoints when training ranged, which isn't bad. However you do need to think on whether you want to PK more than stake.

There aren't many ranged stakers to be honest.

I would suggest for you to get 70 ranged minimum, just because at 70 you get black dhide, which is probably the best leg gear you can get a 1 defence.

As for training, I'd suggest Cows or Chickens for about 1-30, then head to rock crabs.

Its entirely up to you, I can say because youre going to be 1 defence, leveling in going to be a little slower since you'll need to fight weaker creatures who attack less.

Personally I went from 1-30 STR questing, trained at crabs till 80, then went to experiments to get 99.

I reached 99 str with 1 defence and 60 attack, took me about 10 days of experiments from 90-99.

Anyway, I'd suggest training at Rock Crabs with Iron Knives. Get Ava's Accumulator because it'll save you time training since it loots your knifes for you and it is probably the best ranged cape to wear.

    Gear:
Robinhood Hat / Cowl / Coif
Fury / Glory / Power Ammy
    Ava's Accumulator / Firecape / Whatever
    Vambraces
    Iron Knives
    Leather Body
    D'hide Legs
    Ranger boots / Leather
Archers Ring / Ring of Life / Ring of Wealth / Whatever ring really. If not archers then any will do.

    That's the basics anyway mate.

It really is just a case of grinding it out.

An archers ring isn't going to make too much of a difference. Probably about an extra 4k xp an hour, but not really worth the cash if you dont have much.

Makes sense what you are saying. I was torn between range staking, or making a level 50-60 boxer (with semi high attack, high def and med str) but im not so sure if there is even any boxers these days as i haven't played in a good while. Thanks for the response.
