Starting New Staker Pure [Questions]

Okay, I played pre-EOC, and was fairly successful staking (made around 500m over the period of 6 months or so) with pures.

My main question, is what gets frequent stakes?

I WON'T be maxed whipping period. cba maxing, when I can just make cash on a pure that will take a month to put together.

Staker WILL have 1 prayer, so it will be solely used for staking.

The main pure I used back in the day was 70/80/30, but I always lost to dscim pures even if they were 1 def.

What I'm thinking is 60/99/30-40. Scimmy seems to beat out whip at lower defense levels, and I feel having a bit of defense is important.

Really looking for a 'SUCCESSFUL' staker that uses pures to help with this info. Not looking for randoms with no success in arenas telling me x is best because x. Just want the person giving me advice to have some credibility.

Thats a good build but it would be hard to find stakes with those stats.
You should make an account with high hp and str lvl thats high enough for new dds max hit. I also feel a bit def is important. Example: 60/85/20 with 85 hp. This would be a really good build too. You just need to find people you have odds on

 

Thanks for the reply. You're actually one of the guys I was interested in hearing from, just from reading through other staking posts.

I DID decide to just make a general pking pure, as most people staking are using orion anyways, and will have my stats instantly, and CB doesn't really matter this day-in-age. Gonna stick to 1 def for now, and try it out, and if it doesn't work out, make changes here and there. Eventually this account will be a maxed whipper, but that's not for a very very very long time. (after 99 str, and some bank is made.)

 

I would stay 1def for a while. As a 70 defence account, i frequently lost to zerkers with just a bit more str/hp. Using range/mage train your hp above the others at your combat, but not by too much otherwise people will ask for ridiculous xing or won't fight you. Perhaps like 3-5 hp higher, as some people will just brush off the 3 hp advantage.

 

You would probably get a fair few stakes as a 1 defense range pure. There are always low levels and high levels using knives/crossbows to stake.

 

A lot of people are doing 1 defence range boxing with 70-80 range

 

get 50 defence 85 str 75 attack 80 hp and you will wreck.

 

There are plenty of options, you could get 60 attack (dscim), high str (70+) and stay 1 def, or get 45 def and zerk it, or get 70 attack and do dds whip stakes, or lastly just go for very high cb stakes and hope to get good odds. Don't do range or mage boxing tho imo, seems sketch to me

 

Thanks for the replies guys. Thinking I'll just go for 60/85/1 with 1 prayer to start, and just change my stats as I see fit. Only thing I worry about is rule changers at lower cb levels, but I plan to make an opaque lay-over of the second rule screen until I'm comfortable just looking at it.

 

Most pure stakers won't fight a staker with defence.

Most stakes are 1 def pures. (other than main stakers)

 

Feel ya, though the idea would be to have ~60/90/40 staking a ~70/70/60 or something though.
