Custom Rim Paint [Suggestions]

Instead of buying new rims w/colors or new rims, I was thinking about just getting these painted. Any ideas on what colors and stuff? I have a black Scion Tc 2014 if that helps.

 

Plasti-dip them flat black if you absolutely want them painted.. It's a non-permanent solution. Add my skype if you want to talk cars.

 

I was thinking about plasti-dip or another one that i could just peal off if I decided too. I was thinking more about getting like neon green or blue. Something that stands out with the black. I would also get them painted by a paint shop so I don't mess up and I can get the best quality.

 

Do not get those beautiful rims painted. I will laugh at you.

To be quite honest, green and other color rims look just ridiculous on black cars. The rims look decent as they are. If I were to do anything I would get the car nicely detailed (or better yet do it yourself if you do some research) and paint your caliper (braking mechanism) whatever ridiculous color you want (yellow looks best with black) .

 

Detailed as in what?

 

Well how often do you wash your car? Next time you wash your car feel various parts of your paint. Do they still feel perfect like glass or is there some "catch" on your fingers? This slight roughness is tiny particle stuck in the pores of your clearcoat that cannot be remove simply from washing and need to be clay barred out. This will leave your car literally looking as if it just came off the lot again. The yellow calipers would look something like this afterward:



Edit: I know this is a brz and not an tc but still would have the same contrast.

 

I usually wash my car by hand to save money and stuff since I'm only 16, also the yellow calipers aren't really what I was lookin for. I want something that will stand out more. I was thinking about getting a little paint job design (something small so It's not $1000+) but the car would be hard to resell after that /= That's why I was leaning towards rims.

 

Dude design paint jobs are so ricey. (Bad) They may look cool now that you're thinking about it but think will you really want a design on your car? Subtle details really make a car stand out. If anything I would put some lowering springs on it which will be like damn low and perhaps a front lip. If you're going to go with rims I would definitely recommend plasti-dipping them whatever ridiculous color you want because if you hate them you peel them simple as that

 

Don't get them painted a bright color :fp: you're 16 it might sound like a good idea now but only other 16 year olds are going to think it looks cool I would do what Entrr said and either get them painted flat black or plasti-dip them flat black. I saw a black subaru yesterday with neon green rims and it just reminded me of monster energy, just blah. Then a light blue civic with pink rims, it just makes your car look amateurish if you get what I'm saying.

In the end it's your car, do whatever you want. I'd like an all black car with little highlighted accents like orange calipers, with small orange decals and maybe mirrors as well. IMO colored rims is too much pop.

 

If you're going to paint them do gloss black in my opinion
