TROLLOLOL dat microtransaction money was well-spent. Rl content > RS content to MMG

Frankly I'm excited he's gone. Never really been a fan of much he's done. Then again, he's likely just a face more than anything. We all know it's not one guy coming up with everything. Regardless, maybe a new face will do us some good.

I don't think it matters, doesn't that american company own 55% of Jagex anyway? So the new CEO is probably just gonna be a puppet.

Yes and they're the main cancer that is killing Runescape and monetizing everything.

Insight Venture Partners, a company many believe was responsible for the death of Maplestory. Now they're killing Runescape.

It's about time Gerhard left, but I'm not sure if the replacement can do much to turn this company around. I'm mostly curious to see if GlassDoor reviews for Jagex will improve after he leaves. For years, the reviews have been extremely negative particularly when about management.

I heard Mod Pips will be taking over in his place. I just hope whoever is chosen next will not lay a finger on oldschool.

Lmao, I thought I was the only ones that read those reviews. Man, they hated MMG.

I think it is indeed Pips, who seems to be way more chill than MMG. I don't expect any negative stuff happening to OSRS.

I don't see much changing in the game itself.

Obviously things will change in the company due to new leadership and such.

I actually wonder if he actually was like this, or was it all the American company telling him what to do.

Little of both I think. MMG was in charge a little bit before IVP got majority control in Jagex. MMG was pretty arrogant. He also always said how they'd tone down microtransactions and then would increase them in volume tenfold. His idea of bonds are decent, I suppose.

But they didn't introduce microtransactions until IVP got majority control. So, whatever MMG said about microtransactions was probably fed to him by IVP.

Really wish that they hadn't given up majority control to an American company, I don't care how much the check was. :/

I'm glad to see him step down, hopefully someone can step in who has been involved with the game for a long time and cares for its survival.

I don't think Jagex is concerned about survival, they realized Rs is done and they are getting as much out of it as possible.

Speculation. We'll never really know. However given IVP's track record with Maplestory, this would seem to be the most logical explanation.

    Agreed.

The irony is, they should be damn concerned about its survival. All of Jagex's other projects post Runescape have failed miserably. FunOrb a mediocrity, MechScape/Stellar Dawn/ whatever the f_ck it is now, all but dead, that Transformers game is an epic piece of shit too. Jagex will be nothing when RS is dead, so they better change their attitude about it.

Hopefully the new. CEO isn't just a puppet and has some good ideas and actually gets listened to, I would love to see Stellar Dawn actually released sounds amazing, for now I guess I'll just stick to League of Legends
