I have a ton of stuff I could sell, but I'm not sure it's safe to sell them over sythe. I mean I know it's basically like an ebay, but people here know how to crack accounts with the info they get from shipping, identity, etc. What are your opinions on this?

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine, As a seller, you need the buyers address and stuff so he'll be the one at risk. Just don't get scammed

I've bought plenty of IRL things on Sythe and there has never been a serious problem as far as I can remember.

Not really. The only insurance you have is whether or not the user is trusted, really. Websites like eBay and Amazon work because black marks against your name severely discredit you, whereas on Sythe it's harder to discredit someone when there's no connection to a real identity.

Depends on what it is, who you're trading with, and what you expect to get with it ( amount and so on ). To me, I would sell it since paypal does cover this kind of transactions.

I wouldn't buy any tangible items off anyone from here. There are better sites out there with more insurance/security.

I rarely see a real world item sale go through on here unless it's with someone really trusted. You're better to use eBay or some other site.

It should be safe, I haven't heard of any problems regarding it.

Not really true at least for ebay. People get bad feedback and make new accounts all the time.

I should have qualified this. I wouldn't bother trying to trade with anyone who isn't extremely trusted if I were you, and then just be willing to ship first.

"Qualify" can mean "to add reservations to". "Clarified" would have worked as well, but is less specific.

As you have said in your poll, it's the buyer.

It really depends. On eBay, you're insured with Paypal just as much as you would be on Sythe, if not more so. Further, accounts that process large amounts of stock tend to take black marks against their name seriously, whereas accounts with little to no positive feedback are the ones to be wary of.

As an example, stereotypically, Chinese are hard to deal with on business, yet on eBay I've received prompt service to complaints and so on, so it works out quite well if you're buying or selling to reputable users with something to actually show for it.

As far as selling is concerned, I guess the process on eBay is just far more streamlined, and definitely more secure. Ultimately I guess buying is safer than selling as you stand to lose less, given a seller of repute.
