I think that post count shouldn't matter, i think there should be a karma thing where you get karma as you go along doing good things for people and getting with proof... just my opinion

Post account is okay, but I don't think you should make too many decisions off it.

eh, i like post count, i feel i can trust a lot more people who have higher post counts.

I just don't like the people who go around saying "OMG!! i had +200 posts before the hack!!!!!!!!!!" To me thats saying that they like their post count more than the whole sythe community

    Bah, post count, shmost count..

Many scammers will try to gain some post count before they scam, since many people DO trust people beacause of their high post count.

On a forum that I am a member of, a user worked there way up to an admin postion on a newly created forum, and ended up scamming a red phat less than a month later.

    Thanks for that example. =p

    Yea..the reputation system sucked.

And post count is just post count. It doesn't make you more trusted, and it certainly doesn't make your penis bigger.

Check join date, and their current forum position(ranks, etc).

I lost 1200+ posts from the rollback BTW. Came back with ~40.

for the most part your right, but if a person has enough patience they could get lots of posts and have joined for like 5 months and gain trust only to do a huge scam. so its basically just relies on luck of the draw, u either get a person who's gonna scam or u don't.

    Bah, post count, shmost count..

I think it helps a bit.

For example: I'm sure you can agree that there is a difference between a leecher with 1 post who joined today that sells a level 126.
    and
    Someone who has 300+ posts and a year-old-account selling a level 126.

Your idea isn't a bad one, but think about it. We both know you don't know everyone. Post count just helps.

oh yeah, join date DEFFINATELY makes a difference.. and post count..penis size.. yeah, it doesn't change your respect..

but so many people spam just to get it up.. then they say "I'm more trusted cause I have 700 posts"..

if you go to their profile, it says about 50 posts per day.. HONESTLY! then they scam.. and people whine..

So they are spammers and scammers.. and post count is a major cause of it.

    Bah, post count, shmost count..

I think that people should be judged on the quality of their posts not the quantity, so I agree that the "post count" can be a false representation.

Personally if I see someone with 500-600 posts with a join date of only 1-2 months ago my initial reaction is "spammer!" and 90% of the time that is correct (useless, stupid replies like "wow nice" etc..), although I like to look around at what the person is like on the forums before I make any final judgments.

When I used to do a lot of trading on this site I would personally do some "research" into the other person to see how they contribute to the forums before 'trusting' them. It is good to look at both the post count AND join date and form your own opinion based on your knowledge of the person..
