Scammed by CoinKing, refused by Steam and still feeling depressed

So i was scammed by CoinKing who took all my stuff away. Steam immediately stonewalled me because they said it was my fault for dealing with scammers. How was i supposed to know?

It has been awhile since this has happened and i still feel depressed at having lost nearly 80% of my bank account remaining. Really feel like suiciding to rid me of this sadness and pain.

The least Steam could have done is to ban that scammer and return my items back to me, but no, the scammer's account is still live and my items are still with him.

Steam really does care about its players. Australia is suing Steam on refund grounds, but I'm not Australian, and Steam would just change their policy (STILL NO REFUND TO ANYONE).

I wish I could track that hacker down, I know he scammed BitCoins, so we can follow that trail, but I'm still too depressed to do anything rational now, months after the incident.....

Ask yourself this: Is money the source of happiness? Just move on and learn from your mistakes. You'll get over it.

Suicide is a permanant solution to a temporary problem. Learn from your mistakes and move on a better person.

I understand that losing that much money is particularly difficult, and any large loss is going to be psychologically difficult to handle. But you need to realize that, in the grand scheme of things, that $5,000 is literally almost nothing. Focus on your education, job, whatever it is you're doing in life and you will be fine. $5,000 is literally just a fraction of one year's salary. It is NOT worth taking your life over!

Getting over this loss will probably be difficult and may take some time. Psychologically, humans are wired to obsess over things like this. But you really just have to keep reminding yourself that this $5,000 is really not going to change your quality of life significantly in the long run.

    It's only a game, man.
    Take it easy.
Walk out of the site for a while, but if it gets you like this then you might want to talk to someone before you do something regrettable.

It happens but as one wise man said "We learn from our mistakes". Well and of course steam will put a wall on that. They didn't tell you to trade him, if they would have to deal with scammers they would increase their personal and pay more than they're supposed right now. As they see no need on this, they just put walls into all kind of "problems" because they don't want other problems since they've already got thousands. Just saying. Sorry for your loss.

I cant fully understand what you are going through since I havent taken anywhere near that sort of financial loss but I can say this: every minute you have been moping or being bent out of shape over it you could be striving to make it back.

I know it doesnt feel like it now, but the money you lost is just a drop in the long term bucket. You can ALWAYS make it back. As others have mentioned maybe you shouldnt be so invested in gaming and seek out some IRL hobbies. Being social always helps me out of slumps.

I've never lost 5k All at once but the amount of fuck ups i've had in my life where i trusted people with money is nearing that amount. It sucks yeah but you learn from this kind of shit. Make this a life lesson and teach others about this.

He's refunding the users? I bet you didn't even read his posts.. He has not refunded any user and has no plans of it at all, otherwise, don't you think he would've refunded all the users that "he thought had good scam reports with proof and shit"? He won't pay them back, don't be blind. He can create another account and donate it back to sythe and even there he has profit. As I stated since the beginning, this user won't pay back any affected members because as he said "he has no interests in coming back again to this community" so this whole piece of "i'll repay back the scammed users" can be erased since at my eyes, he's just a piece of garbage and a poor guy who just scammed people who had trusted his shit vouches.

Don't worry brother like what these other guys said, you'll just get it back and 5k$ is just a pretty small amount,

I don't even think he is willing to pay back the victims as he wants a "full and valid proofs" and that's stupid even though it has been already accepted by the staff, he still refuses.

It's only a game and it's not worth it. To be honest, nothing is worth committing suicide let alone it's for a game.

    Money comes and goes.

But still, 5k$ worth of items is a lot. He can make his living out of it by selling them for dosh $$.

Without reading through let me just say this. You should never let anyone or anything get you to the point you're so depressed you feel suicidal now maybe that is easier said then done. But you only have one life. Money is a replaceable object.

How many times have i heard this corny ass line...

just move on. Sure money is important in the world we live in and anyone who says otherwise is a fucking moron. BUT don't kill yourself because you lost some money. You're probably still living with your parents. You have plenty of time to get some more capital
