Weird fucking noises

There are like booming noises in the sky. Sounds like someone is hitting a low bass drum or something and echos for a little. Anyone knows that this is? I've heard this since I was like 6 and was always curious. I once heard it was the sun's solar flare gases hitting the edge of our atmosphere but I don't think it would happen within around 30 seconds of each other. Any answers?

it is possible, under some atmospheric conditions, for sound to travel many miles. Once I heard the roar of a tornado when the thunderstorm cloud that it formed from could barely be seen, some 20 miles away. So, yes, you probably did hear thunder.

 

Here in southern cali, it hasn't rained in maybe 2 months or so and clear skies with barely any clouds. I highly highly doubt it was thunder. We have a small military camp about an hour away, so my next thought was they were testing some explosives.

 

Makes me laugh about the comments how people saying "Jesus is coming". That was 2 years ago when they thought 12/21/12 was the end of the world xD
