    Chest flys

A friend of mine told me I should stop doing flys because my chest muscles are still small and he said it's only necessary to do flys when your pecs are big enough so your chest gap won't get wider.

Here below is a picture I found from the bodybuilding forum and this is his 1 year results, the friend of me said his gap is wide because the guy probably did a lot of chest flys. I am pretty much believing him as I have seen different kinds of 1 year transformation and some of their chest looks like that and some looks cool.

Bullshit or nah? sometimes I hate listening to his stupid advices but I don't want to tell him that his advices are bullshit because I am not an a-hole.

    not necessary for beginners.
after you gained some mass, flys will help you develop it further but for beginners flat/incline is all you need.

I re-read the post and i want to say this:

CHEST FLYS DO NOT CAUSE CHEST GAPS
that is pure genetics. chest flys is an isolation exerciser that tones the chest.

Ask your friend why this is, I'd love to hear his explanation. For future reference anything like "shaping" your muscles etc is brosience and is purely on the shoulders of genetics

I don't know where he go that from....but coming from the standpoint of fly's being a solid addition to any chest routine I'd say do them. Why not? Add them fuckers in, you're hitting your muscles from different angles, using different motions, tearing them in different directions. Even if its all minute every little bit counts in my opinion!

Muscle insertions are purely genetics. Exercises can't really change it man.
Just do some different variations bench press + flies and you'll be good. But flies are just isolation so they are not really necessary. Their are other substitutes.

That's not me though and that was the guy's 1st year of results and this year is his 2nd year. His chest looks a lot better and chest gap isn't noticeable anymore.

If you're doing multiple types of lifts, hitting all muscle groups in that area, you should be fine!

If you do just flyes and nothing else...that's when you'll have a problem.

Like everyone else said that is all genetics my friend. As for his holding off advice... Well fuck that only a little bitch holds off that only prevents results. You need to attack muscles at all angles with high reps for tone and very heavy with less reps for size.

Keep in mind chest does take a very long time compared to other muscles to develope. Also fat lost is key as well to define your chest as well, as we all know abdominal fat is the last to go making low chest pecs less defined including lower chest near the armpit. Even though they may be ripped under the fat it won't show until it's gone.

Bro just do some flies whether it be cables or dumbbells if you want depending on how your routine is structured.
It's a good accessory movement for your chest.
And yea like others have said, muscle insertion is pure genetics; can't really be changed much if at all by exercises.

Not much bro science a lot of fact but I did add a lot of my own experience in the comment Jeff. Anyone can be an arm chair fitness trainer but let's see the pics men it adds to your " bro science " and shows you have done what you claim not just watching a Jeff sied workout vid and talking about it. " no relation to sythe Jeff"

Naw don't really know what bro science is nor will I look it up. Not too sure how hostility was involved or how you were unable to understand the post, which was written in English. But to clarify for you I simply said the input I gave about the chest muscle mainly came from experience and a little bit if research/ talking to body builders on the daily. The part about pics is well about pics... Seriously c'mon people we all start somewhere if we are gunna give advice show yourself to let us all know if you take your own advice or your just getting your post count up. It's a challenge really, this is the health and fitness section just reading text is boring SHOW REAULTS let the guy your feeding info have some comfort in taking your advice and sticking with it.

I will never be hostile to any users in the health and fitness section. If they don't want to take my advice that's okay with me. I know how irritating it is to get into to the lifting world and be taken into a million different directions. I'm not perfect when I cut down ill show my results and within the next few days start up a thread on everything I know and have done to see if it can help anyone out.

If anyone was hostile Jeff it was you. By the bro science comment and the immature inb4 bro looking it up remark. If you don't like me or my advice, don't comment on it =D.

Let's keep this part of sythe troll free and actually hit up some good fitness.

But seriously people post some pics. There's no shame and fuck what some dush troll will say about you. If your weak or fat and your here looking for advice or in the gym, your making a difference so have some confidence. Mental confidence is just as important as lifting or dieting.

He's referring to this "As for his holding off advice... Well fuck that only a little bitch holds off that only prevents results. You need to attack muscles at all angles with high reps for tone and very heavy with less reps for size." being broscience as in, some theory that a bro told you one day.

High reps will not tone your muscle or anything like that and lifting heavy with less reps will not build size. High reps work towards building muscular endurance for that exercise whereas lifting heavy with low reps is for strength training. Somewhere in between i.e. 8-12 reps is ideal to achieve hypertrophy (build size).

As what you said is indeed true I forgot to mention that. Yes I don't have the eduction body wise to back my claim but I have the results from using the method. Hence lift heavier weight tear the muscle forcing it to grow and adapt to the weight being used. Low reps is simply because it's heavy and your body can't handle the weight yet. Lower weight is to achieve higher reps and a bigger pump. Also being lower weight you can keep better form and tear the muscle in a better way toning it. But this is all just my opinion and I'm backing it because I use all methods I'll ever mention.
