Account Locked

I recently bought an account from a somewhat trusted user on here. All Info on the account was promised before the trade (Original Email, Passes, etc..). After paying the user the set amount it turns out the account doesn't even come with original email/ several passwords. The account doesn't even belong to him (USA) but rather someone in Australia.

I bought the account Aug 13th and was able to play it the first day (3-4 hours) the next day I try to log in and it's locked. The info given to me was not enough to unlock the account so I had to wait a day for the "real" owner to come unlock the account. He was able to unlock it however it locked up again after I logged in 1 time. I wait 2 days for the person who sold me the account to contact the real owner and unlock the account (This time he failed to unlock it and request was denied). Now the date is already Aug 20th and I'm still waiting for the "real" owner to come online and attempt to unlock it again.

Would it be logical for me at this point to request a refund for the account? Assuming the account cannot be unlocked/ played on my IP (USA) can he deny me a refund while following the ToS onsite? I feel that I've been more than patient with the person. I've bought many accounts on here and had little to no problems with being locked up even with international creation IP accounts. I still rather have the account than my GP back however at this point should I pursue a refund or wait it out?

 

Just do yourself a favor and never buy accounts, they are always recoverable and unless the original owner is a trusted individual from sythe, I would not even consider buying it.

Request a refund and buy a couple scripts and make your own account.

 

I've only bought from trusted users and haven't had any problems with those accounts. This user seemed no different as he does have more to lose than gain if this were to be a scam (The account is only worth about $400). That being said I'd like to assume this isn't a scam. I bought the account 7 days ago and have 4 hours of gameplay on it. So my question is more along the lines of can the seller actually refuse to give a refund? Since he did sell me an account even though it's an unplayable one.

 

The original owner tried to recover it from you most likley. Jagex doesen't normally lock bought accounts unless you were banned recently for real world trading or something. He should also have to refund you or unlock the account acording to Sythe rules.

 

Contact the user directly, then if he does not comply, fill out a scam report.

The account is flagged. Yes it would make sense to request a refund.

 

Request a refund, but don't be a dick about it.

 

dont buy rs accounts that way too rsiky with recoveries etc

 

what you fail to mention is that your also running a bot farm and those accounts keep getting banned. The log in you were able to create the email because it never had one. Ive told you id refund since its been recovered and relocked multiple times. I told you i wasnt the original owner as well. The account isnt being stolen or hi jacked it most likely was flagged for the drastic ip change. It happens and it sux ive already talked with him and he edited the scam report for a reason

edit- AND i fucking had the original owner join.me and the new owner use all the info i provided, and we were able to recover it successfully proving that the info was correct.. However jagex wanted another form filled out for password reset and they denied that one.

 

Describe "trusted". you should only buy from extremely trusted members because accounts are always recoverable no matter what. I'm pretty sure he can deny you a refund as well, if he claims to not have recovered it.

 

im refunding him ffs, the account was flagged. Atm we cant get the account back the original owner has recovered 3 times for him but it keeps getting locked again. The ip change and the possibility of him running a bot farm could be to be blame. Im refuding him and this has already been handled ty.
