Russia aren't dumb enough to go to war with the US, never mind dropping a nuke.

Have you even actually compared Russia's military against the US? The United States would slaughter Russia and be home in time for dinner.

 

Pretty sure if there was a nuclear attack exchange no one would go home for dinner...

 

Except for the fact that any country willing to use nuclear weapons is effectively committing to mutually ensured destruction.

 

Not going ro happen. Nobody will use nukes because the WHOLE worlx would turn on them.

Nobody will fuck with the US because we would rape them in combat.

Unfair assessment considering there hasn't been much of a way to test that hypothesis except against largely untrained terror cells. The general sentiment I pick up about Russia where I live is that they're even more gun crazy than the US, so you never know.

The only thing to be afraid of in starting a war is that the US is more or less on good terms with other western countries and eastern trade partners, meaning the greater threat would potentially come from allied nations. Russia would not attack unless they had both motivation to do so, and strategic advantage or a way of opening one.

It wouldn't even come down to "are the US capable of destroying them" because there's essentially every other major country backing us as well. I think it's more or less them trying to intimate more than anything.

Either way, as soon as things go nuclear we're all screwed.

 

Nuclear war would mean the end of the world. You can't profit from a war that kills off every hyman.

 

You'd have to think about other countries too. It wouldn't just be Russia vs USA. You've got the Allied countries also, and that's quite a lot of fire power going up against Russia.

Are there any countries that have a formidable military that are on good terms with Russia? If not, the war would be over before it even started if Russia pulled some stupid move.

 

I believe if Russia, China, and North Korea joined up, we would be in another World War. But the likelihood of that happening is very slim.

 

I'm not sure what the purpose of their provocation is
