How to stop gambling?

You could just try other ways of making money besides gambling. There are plenty of safe ways to make guaranteed money like actually playing the game of runescape just skilling a bit and raising stats that make money, you could also try merching or gold farming or even flipping gold. Those are just some ideas of the top of my head you could do many more things other than gambling though

I have recently been doing lots of activities such as slayer, training, questing and clues. To be honest I'm having as much fun with my 6m bank as I was with a 150M bank. I think this is beneficial to me as it shows how you can pretty much have fun no matter how small you bank is. At the moment I'm going to try dealing with this without support groups etc as im only 15.

Why don't you just suicide bot all your accounts until you are perm banned on all of them?

I know this seems very alright for now but when you're bank starts to grow and you see some spare money that you don't really need you will gamble that and loose it. And then you'll think that you can just gamble a little bit more to break even and call it a day. Guess what? You'll loose again, and you'll end up cleaned again. Ofcourse there is not 100% chance of this happening but it's what normally happens with most addictions.

I was somewhat addicted to runescape too and I recently started playing csgo and damn I forgot about runescape in a day! Just try other games untill you find the one that makes you no longer want to play runescape again

 

I had the same problem , but got over. The thing I did was I quit RuneScape for a while and started going out, playing basketball and enjoying life overall. I forgot the feeling of gambling and it actually felt pretty awesome. Try it man!

 

I used to be a pretty big gambler. Whenever I was cleaned in rs, I would spend like thousands of Irl cash just to satisfy that gambling craving.

1.) Self-realization
Thankfully, by the Grace of God, I was able to stop it totally! It took me nearly 6 months to break that habit and oh boy, was it full of ups and downs. What happened first, was self- realization to the problem at hand. I was spending most of my pay check to gambling and I knew I have to overcome it.

2.) willingness to break the habit
A habit cannot be destroyed, it can only be replaced. And thus, I begin exploring other fun things to do on RS and guess what, I love PVM and player-owned Ports! Yes, the craving was there but I was willing to ignore it cause I know I have to stop this.

3.) No playing for fun
Even up till now, I have no desire to gamble and even if it's just playing for fun, I would turn it down. I do not want to position myself in an area where the temptation will just come back again.

I hope that helps you as much as it has helped me with my gambling problems. And in the midst of it all, it was Jesus that have helped me to sustain me in this path and have made me a better man today.

 

How is this battle going? Remember gambling is an addiction you need to find something less harmful to substitute it with. What do you enjoy doing other then the computer or other then gambling?

 

If you really enjoy gambling, but always lose, get into poker.

Every single dice clan / staking / whatever else involved with runescape is set up so the host ALWAYS has an advantage over you. You WILL lose eventually, and this is coming from someone who used to be a host in one of the biggest dicing clans in runescape.

I would recommend not gambling at all, but if you really want to, poker isn't all about luck.

 

where are all you people getting thousands to spend on a game?

You need to look at it this way. You aren't spending money to fund your gambling addiction, you're funding your addiction with HOURS out of your ALREADY SHORT LIFE. Every 50$ you spend gambling was 5 WHOLE HOURS of work (more or less) for that 1 minute of thrill. You only have 24 hours a day to get better than the last day. You already blow 8 of those hours sleeping, you blow another 8 working, you blow another 4 playing video games, and that only leaves you with 4 fucking hours to progress your life to mean something. Stop throwing away your youth.

You're paying in hours, not money.

 

Have your parents or friend hold the money you earn irl. Only use money for dicing with the money you earn from sythe, and other online things.

 

I had that addiction too, my advice is if you ever feel like gambling just switch your computer off and go do something else , some other game or something.
