Do you feel that Riot is doing a good job with League overall?

I was thinking about League as a whole the other day and was wondering what you guys think of Riot and the way they handle LoL. I came up with some questions to discuss.

• How do you feel about the current state of the game?
• Where do you see League in the next 3 years?
• What kind of features would you like to see implemented?
• What's something you hate about Riot/League?
• Esports, yay or nay?

Personally, I don't really like the esports stuff that they're putting an emphasis on. Would rather have them focus on content creation, bugsplatting, report system etc.

They need to fix the community.

 

They really need to bring back the tribunal or find a way to improve the toxicity of the game atm.

 

Problem with that Suppresive, they earn money from esports stuff; therefore they want to make it as big as they can; whereas bugsplatting doesnt bring income to them

Its all about the money for gamemakers.

 

Current state: I like where the game is at, it's been hugely developed to what it is today, a very addictive game where you spend countless hours on, if a games company can make you play so many hours, they've done something right.

The only thing about the current state, which I don't like, is the community, too many people that play think they're too good for everyone else, all the flaming that happens is annoying. This isn't a problem with LoL, it's a problem with any game that has an online community.

Where do I see it in 3 years? I can see it being further developed, but I can see the player base being in a similar size. With the upcoming updates surrounding toxic players etc. I can see a lot of people being banned and quitting the game. It will grow, in a sense of new players coming in, old players going out.

No idea on which features I would like, I don't play much, but the main feature I want to see is the feature of players being banned, hopefully I can then play, while not having to mute my team.

There is nothing I hate about Riot/League. I think they've done an amazing job on the game, nothing to hate on.

I love eSports, sometimes I watch eSports even if I have no clue on the game. Without eSports LoL would not be anywhere near as big as it is today!

 

- Going strong, just need better community support and interaction. As of now, Riot staff respond to reddit threads more than their own forums. Granted, they have an official icon their aswell etc, but still.

- Hopefully still growing.

- They most definitely need a better in-game client. They promised an updated more user-friendly and bug free client soon.

- Toxicity.

- Yuppers.

 

All They need to improve is the community. Thats the #1 thing and I think that they're doing a great job at what they are doing with updates and patches.

 

They want your money, that's it.

I definitely see a problem with toxic players but what kind of team orientated game doesn't?

Do you guys think voice chat implemented like DoTA would lower the negative attitudes? Something about hiding behind a computer screen seems to encourage trash talking

Apparently when Curse Voice was a thing, people said they had better experiences with the game. I didn't get to try it but I think it would improve the situation. It's easier to say "gg our mid is trash" through typing than saying it directly to him in a call lol.

 

Everyone is saying that the community is an issue but I think it's more of a problem with the game itself. It's very stressful to play a game so reliant on your teammates and where so many players are so competitive. This stressful environment leads to toxicity.

I see League's player base smaller in three years as more games but I support the esports community.

 

Exactly my point. I use(d) curse voice whenever I could and I generally had better games because of it. Is it no longer available? I've been playing starcraft as of late...

 

I want team/global voice chat so badly. It's one of the things I miss from other games/console gaming. Trolling over a mic or just talking to people in general is what makes online gaming fun for me.

 

The function voice chat is in CS:GO, Dota most valve games, to me it does not seem like a negative thing as we can still block retards who play something like retarded music or start raging for no reason, but I can't tell is it because they have a better community or is it because of the voice chat itself.

 

Riot forbid the use of Curse Voice a while back. While they supported the idea of voice chat, they simply didn't want people to connect with others in unfiltered or untraceable voice chat. Perhaps they could come out with their own moderated version.

 

the server issues absolutely enrage me but overall im happy with the game they created. I host alot and watch youtube vids of matches. Helps pass the time during lull moments. I really want them to start focusing on new skins tho for some left out champs thresh etc...

 

I think their customer support is excellent. One thing I don't understand about Riot is why they don't try to prevent things like referrals and they only stopped the lol skin sales just recently when it could have been done long ago.

 

I think League is a good game, I am satisfied with how Riot is/has handling problems and updates. Would like to see continue on for the next 3 years but who knows, anything can happen!

 

I did actually read somewhere that they were going to bring back tribunal, with real consequences for things like racism, death threats and homophobic comments (e.g. 7 days bans!!)

Reminds me of the times where people would be afraid to act toxic in Runescape because mutes were a very real possibility and i feel like it would solve alot of the games current problems.
