Rare Name Release 2014

I personally like this idea as well

 

I would much rather know the day so I'm not wasting weeks trying to find a good name. Exp waste & unlike most kids on Rs I'm not on constantly to get anything so it wouldn't work for your average older player who just wants one good name for their account - which presumably is who Jagex want to get the names.

It wouldnt be beneficial to as many people

in order to snipe all "rare" names so you can re-sell them and make 5$ off them.

It's utter bullshit the banned names were released later. This wasn't what was advertised and a ton of lucky people got rare names because of it.

I realize it's all luck, but the dude that wanted my name literally said he thought the name launch was today. He literally stumbled on the account name and barely wants it. So irritating.

And no, I didn't want my name for profit. It was solely for me and I would have kept the name for the rest of my time playing if I had it.

 

i think "avenger" was available when the list was released, but it's gone now.

This. Silently releasing them just isn't fair on the average player when people can just leave bots running overnight and get all the good names they please.
The bot takes names in 6~ seconds, I doubt anyone but bots would get them.

 

Best idea is they prerelease list of names so you can prepare, and higher levels get the advantage (first hour is for like high combat people, 2nd hour for med, 3rd for low, etc.)

 

And it would be nice if you could only look up like two names per minute so bots don't have a big advantage.

Edit: Just claimed "Above_All" on my low level account. It seems that the name checker doesn't work but you can change your name into accounts on the list.

Don't take it personal. You have sniped rare names before with bots, and ALL massive name sellers use name sniping bots. In all honesty your opinion on how they're released, wether or not you're a large name seller doesn't count.

You don't know the frustration legitimate players like myself and other THOUSANDS feel when they're incapable to get a single decent name.

Whilst people like yourself and taylor have HUNDREDS of accounts you're hoarding just to re-sell them.

I personally prefer users like Folt to take names over legitimate players then atleast I have a chance at getting them rather than some 2595 nerd who wont give it up because of Jagex's communist rules.

Yes of course but if 10 people are going for a name and one of them is Folt he has a much higher chance at getting it over the other players if hes using a bot meaning I'll have higher odds getting it later if I decide to buy it from him.

 

D names are getting for release. Seen a few disappear from my ignore list.
