    Anecdotal Creatine advice?

Considering starting my first ever cycle. Have done a lot of research but I'd like to post here and get some helpful anecdotes.

    Did it work?
    What was your cycle like?
Did you "load" at any point or just jump right in?
    How long was your cycle?
Did you notice a significant increase in aesthetics of your body/muscles when starting?
Did you notice a significant decrease in aesthetics of your body/muscles after stopping?
What exactly was your water intake like?
Is it work the money? (not that it's that expensive)

To be specific, I'm personally considering mono. But if you've taken other forms feel free to post.

I am after long-term gains but I also wouldn't be opposed to "it makes you look a lot better" type responses either.

    Thanks!

    I use this:

    Did it work? Yeah absolutely

What was your cycle like? Not sure what you're asking

Did you "load" at any point or just jump right in? I loaded for 5 days taking 4-5 servings a day, after that, I took a serving before and after every workout

How long was your cycle? I take creatine during winter and summer

Did you notice a significant increase in aesthetics of your body/muscles when starting? Yes absolutely

Did you notice a significant decrease in aesthetics of your body/muscles after stopping? I did notice a decrease during the spring and fall, however, during the spring and fall I'm doing a lot of cardio which makes me lose weight/muscle.

What exactly was your water intake like? I drink a lot of water everyday, hard to measure it exactly

    Is it work the money?
    In my experience, yes

Creatine doesn't need to be "loaded" or "cycled" take a tbsp a day of creatine monohydrate and do that for a few months.

Thank you for the detailed response! Planning on picking some up later today. I'll let you know how it goes.

    Thanks for the info.

    ?
I feel as though the subject of Creatine is a bit more complex than it being labeled as a good or bad substance.

    Anecdotal Creatine advice?

Creatine monophosphate (or any of the other more readily available forms) is a high-energy phosphate carrier that can 'recharge' molecules in your muscles required for contraction.

In effect, taking creatine increases the [creatine] and means that you'll be able to pump a few extra reps out.

Personally I'll do a loading dose of 2x normal serve for a week or two, then keep it at a regular amount.

I do gym pretty casually (despite the supplements) so I've never noticed a huge difference in physique (I don't try that hard :p), but I've definitely noticed a substantial energy difference.

    Hope that helped :)

    Anecdotal Creatine advice?

Just bought some creatine monohydrate. Got 175 servings for $25. Today's my first day. I've been looking at information about loading and I think I'm just going to take a dose during my lunch break, then one before my workout and one after. So not quite a loading phase but not quite normal dosages either -- since many say there's no point in loading.

as for the loading period stuff, I'd read the back of the creatine tub to see what they say about loading

not that theyre really a credible source (huge bias to use their product faster -> buy more) but at least you can weigh out if its worth it to load a little better. more information never hurts

It's all the same chemical though.

I'm just doing a 3 dose thing because of my work schedule. I can't really fit in 4 doses and I don't want to double up on one drink.

Also, got the fruit punch flavor. No flavor vs flavor was the same price. Gotta say, this stuff is delicious.

I might start doing that. I've heard of some getting stuck on the glass too. I tried doing that with pre workout once before though and literally choked for minutes lol.

    Anecdotal Creatine advice?

No need to cycle, mono is the oldest and most proven creatine to work. like people said 5g a day and remember it brings long term results.
It will bring you size because of water retention (You will notice this easily)
    Invest in this: http://www.amazon.com/Bluewave-Water-Jug-Reusable-Bottle/dp/B000GEDUDY
it fill it up at the beginning of day and drink all of it and you'll hit your quota for the day.

    Anecdotal Creatine advice?

    I've been slipping.

Actually saw some gains after just a few days, then I had an alcohol-filled night, spent the next day in bed..just a disappointing span of time. Today I'm back on my grind though, woke up extra early, had a good breakfast, already a bottle of water and a half in and took my "shot of creatine" :)

looking forward to getting in a good workout this afternoon

people say when you take creatine doesnt matter, just take it same time everyday but recent studies shows it works better post-workout.

I'm still on 3 servings a day. One at lunch, one before workout and one after.

About 13-18 g per day. (using a tsp to measure..why would the literal container say "A heaping teaspoon" is the serving size" or whatever lol..measuring cups would be appreciated :D

    Anecdotal Creatine advice?

"he correctly stated in the paper that there were no significant differences between taking creatine pre-workout or post-workout. It was only when they used what's called "magnitude-based inference" that there was any evidence that post-workout might be better than pre-workout."

Had a google of magnitude-based inference but all I was greeted with were novels and I didn't exactly feel like delving into them.

The article actually argues taking 5g before and 5g after with his anecdotal evidence to back it up. I'm not sure if this is simply because 5g seems to be the norm however and it's effectively doubling the dose or if the same results would be produced in splitting it up into 2.5g pre/post. There just aren't conclusive results out there.

Either way I don't think I'd end up taking 5g before and after, 10g total. While I think 10g is still safe to take (imo the evidence for how much you can safely take isn't proven either), the potential risks outweigh the potential gains if you know what I mean.
