Thoughts on Prostitution?

It all really depends. Do I believe it should be completely legalized? No. Some women and even men are forced into prostitution and have no way out of it. So I don't think a women should be able to walk the streets at night trying to sell her body.

Brothels / legitimate establishments should be legalized however and strict restrictions should be applied, because if the person is completely willing then I see no reason why not.

 

By forced into prostitution do you mean as a slave or because they are so poor and they have no other choice. And why would you have to have strict regulations, if someone wants to, let them.

 

The reason I don't think people should walk the streets offering prostitution isn't because those people are forced into it (obviously I don't support people being forced into prostitution) because if they are being forced into it why does it matter where they are doing it? The reason why street prostitution should be illegal is the same reason why unlicensed vendors shouldn't be able to set up shop on a street corner (in the united states at least I can't speak for other countries). The whole operation becomes a risk for the city and without proper documentation the vendor can't be held accountable for taxation and product legitimacy. The goal should be to make the transaction safe and standard for both parties and not to impose morality on people.

 

I wouldn't personally ever pay a male for sex or a women for that matter. I think it's degrading and think that it should remain illegal. Honestly though people are going to continue to do it anyway and it's their body so no one can stop them. I don't agree with it or think that it should ever be legalized.

 

Its deemed the worlds oldest profession for a reason. The places where it is legal and regulated have in turn less crime and lower rates of STD's. Im all for legalization personally all things considered.

Just because you or I may not frequent them doesnt mean they should be made illegal.

 

I guess maybe being a girl and this is where the majority of prostitution takes place I maybe have a different view. But I do understand where you're coming from I truly do I just believe certain things that are made illegal should stay that way. This is one of those things.

 

How about this from a womans perspective, if the work was legal they could do it in a SAFE controlled enviroment or walk the streets falling victim to RAPE , beatings and worst of all murder.

Prostitutes have extremely high murder rates. Just some other things to consider, theres a big difference between a legal, clean and safe brothel with security and consistent blood tests and the street. A life and death difference.

 

Just because something is legal doesn't mean there would be protection. It just means that they wouldn't be arrested when found out.

 

For them to be "found out", they would need to be hiding. No one would be hiding if it was legal.

 

That isn't an argument. You cannot speak for the people who choose to sell their body regardless of whether you are or are not the same sex as they are. Having something be illegal just because it should be is the reason why things like gay marriage are still illegal in certain places. Stupid thought processes like that slow social progression and personally they offend me.

 

Can you provide proof to your last statement? I find it hard to believe that crime is lower where prostitution is legal, as in my opinion they are not related at all.

 

It's common sense

Brothels provide a safe environment, the streets do not. Prostitutes are robbed, raped and sometimes killed in areas where it's illegal. If you find it hard to believe you should google it.

 

Refer to what Ghast said, and ill provide you with a hypothetical scenario:

Say saying the word "Fuck" was illegal, people are charged on the daily thousands of times in the US for breaking this law.

Then one day saying "Fuck" was no longer illegal. Crime goes down, because the cops arent going around harassing potty mouths.

Less laws, less crime. I'm sure you are oblivious to the decreased crime rates in states where marajuana was legalized too.

Prostitution has a number of related crimes, pimping, soliciting ect that would be eliminated.

 

Every person is some what bias when it comes to thinking like a man or a women because we have different genetic makeup. The more I have sat amd thought about it the more I am seeing your point of view. Trying to have an open mind of the situation. That being said commom sense or not I don't think common sense is enough to say something would be safer or more controlled. There are a lot of things that seem like they should be common sense and aren't. Common sense isn't enough.

 

Most if not all girls/women nowadays will fuck if they see cash in hand with an open opportunity.

I am personally against it, since I find it disgusting knowing they've had hundreds of different dicks up inside her before you rofl

 

That shows you alone how messed up our world is. Men are just as guilty as women there shouldn't be a double standard.

 

I posted previously stating my opinion, but I want to add that in some countries porn is illegal but prostitution is legal. Doesn't make much sense to me .

 

Why do you think that is? Because prostitution isn't a public action? Meaning everyone at anytime can view it.

Never the less I don't ever think the United States will ever make prostitution legal we don't have high morals but I personally think that is one law that will never be changed.

 

First of all, sorry I forgot my apostrophe. Secondly, it is legal in places like Nevada. Correct me if I'm wrong, but at the federal level it is NOT illegal. However, states have generally made prostitution illegal. Nevada being one that as legalized it
