Agree completely. So many boosters, such low prices, and so few people wanting boosts.

that my friends is what competition is all about. And in league you can give your pass and user info to someone untrustworthy and you will lose nothing, the worst they can do is bring you back to (division)V and you can easily check that on lolking and change your password. and Trust me, people wouldn't do that and chances are little.

I'd say people aren't really desperate to climb tiers right now. I bet when the rewards are announced and people realize they can't climb from plat 3 to diamond 5 they look elsewhere if they want that border.

The issue is that the market is saturated. Meaning, there are lower ranked players offering Boosting for far cheaper than established users/companies; and thus new users simply go to them, over and over. Sure, may take longer, but to them it's worth the 75% drop in price. Another factor is that we're mid way through season, so it's an odd time for constant active boosts - by this I mean, the start/end of season is where we tend to see a huge influx of activity. However, from most NA/OCE Boosting companies/people, they are still on a busy busy boosting schedule. Most customers simply go direct to Skype, without posting etc.

Perhaps when the demand may increase when the end of season approaches. People might go into panic mode and get desperate for the rewards.

Although the difference between Diamond 5 0 LP and Diamond 1 75LP+ is huge, individuals of both caliber are able to boost lower divisions. Also, there are more Diamond players than there were a year ago and thus more suppliers. Though it may take longer and result in a lower KDR, the end rating is usually the same.

On the flip side, i've seen many individuals have issues with independent and/or lower rating players as they request a boost that the booster is simply not ready for. There's also a larger possibility of getting scammed. Some people are willing to take this risk to save $20. As there is a huge variance in independent booster quality, some customers get through the process happy and satisfied while others get have their account rating dropped significantly or even have their money stolen.

I hope this addresses the reasoning as to why their is a surplus of supply as well as why much of the demand seems to of disappeared (although I doubt it has).

Last season when my friends were in Bronze, I would come here for boosts, but now a select few have reached Diamond, and since I know them IRL I just ask them can they boost me to diamond for free, they say yes, so there really isn't a point to come back here to pay someone trusted. So, in a sense yes, boosting section will eventually die down, because there will be more and more diamond players who just help their friends up to a certain ranking.

Honestly prices have always been way too inflated. I understand the booster's side of things and all but one should not be paid like a normal employee playing league. The demand for boosting would rise exponentially if the prices dropped. Especially for lower end boosting I mean what bronze player is going to drop close to a hundred dollars just to get s5. Not to offend anyone but you guys are asking for way too much with those prices.

As someone who's done a lot of boosting, I have to throw in that you really couldn't be more wrong. Prices have not gone up whatsoever overall, and major services with websites are the only ones who charge really high prices.

Despite what you think, $15 per bronze division and $20-25 per silver division are more than reasonable for customers. It takes an absolute minimum of 5-6 net wins to hop up a division, and that's a bare minimum of 2-3 hours - often more depending on queue times, loading screens, and not being able to draw surrenders out of the other teams, among other things. And that's not to mention picking up a potential loss as a result of something you can't control, like a 3v5, then having to make it up with two extra games.

Boosting is falling off because it's midseason and there are tons of prospective boosters out there who don't understand how markets work and are out looking for a quick buck playing video games.

You aren't taking into account that you're playing a video game. Also for larger orders you can easily skip with the elo differences. I can't wrap my mind around comparing playing league to a real world minimum wage job. There is obviously skill involved but you don't need to go through schooling nor do you need anything really but time to spare and an internet connection.

The skill and effort required to boost is much higher than a minimum wage job.

There, I just compared playing league to a real world minimum wage job.

Your statement that "There is obviously skill involved but you don't need to go through school nor do you need anything really but time to spare and an internet connection." Could be used to describe any online game. Despite this, professional players can go on to make SIGNIFICANTLY more than minimum wage. For example, some DOTA 2 players have made more than 1,000,000 USD.

Given what you've said, I don't think you appreciate what it takes to be a top tier gamer. It's not as easy as you think and players should be compensated for their work.

Also, LoLSmurfin's example of 2-3 hours for a division is on the extreme low. This is assuming 20 minute surrenders, instant queues and no dodges. All things considered, the average time of completion for a bronze job is probably more like 5 hours of only wins. $15-20 for these 5 hours of work is perfectly acceptable.

Boosters ARE NOT COMPARABLE TO PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS. Comparing the two would be like comparing a highschool violin teacher to Jascha Heifetz. Professionals serve as a form of entertainment and are VERY VERY few in number. Boosters are EVERYWHERE and serve the purpose of serving on the individual level. The reason why there are professional gamers isn't because their skill is so profound they must be paid for it, they are paid because people enjoy watching the best of the best. I think you're highly overvaluing your ability to play at a diamond+ level. At the end of the day you're making money by playing an online game which you should enjoy. If you legitimately make an $8 an hour wage playing league you should consider yourself blessed.

But that's the thing - virtually no one actually pulls $8 an hour unless they're getting paid extremely high, boosting service type prices and are winning flawlessly. Those two things together are extremely rare, resulting in much less than $8 an hour most of the time.

    As far as this:
You just said you couldn't wrap your mind around comparing playing LoL to working a "real minimum wage job," then went on to describe the requirements to play LoL for money...which are exactly the same requirements as getting a "real minimum wage job." No schooling, check. Time to spare, check. Conduit for getting to the job (internet connection for LoL, transportation for a job), check. It actually takes more time and effort to play LoL for money than to get and hold a "real minimum wage job."

My point was that you shouldn't be able to pull a minimum wage. And I think I would take playing league over mopping floors any day.

Also don't equate driving to work to paying for internet... you're going to buy internet anyway and it takes time to get to work.
