Thread Title Ability For Donors

I know you can already just have a moderator change thread titles, but it takes a while. A perk where say 50$+ donors can change their thread title freely and whenever they wish. This way they could update it when they hit more vouches or a new milestone, rather then having a mod do it over and over.

 

AFAIK, it's a ModCP+ permission only. Doubt it would be possible. If it was, I'd say $200+ donors, not $50.

 

$50 was just something I made up, it could be anything really, just a nice perk to add. Would you support this if it's possible?

I don't think changing thread titles would result in anything getting covered up. I support this if it can be done. Is it on the dns list (cbf looking).

 

More incentive for higher donors? More versatile useful perks?

Doubt it's possible though. Too many stipulations would need to follow as-well.

 

That would be a very good incentive to donate. I'm not sure what you would need to cover up regarding titles. Make it $300+ imo

The only thing closely related to this is name changes, which isn't allowed. But other then that this is ok to suggest

 

All you would need to do is change the permissions of that specific donator group, no? Or another group can be created to support this idea, and overtake the current one.

 

Maybe this is just biased input from a measly $25 donor but why isn't the ability to change the title of your thread default? I don't see how it prevents any illegitimacy considering you can create the title initially without mod approval. The whole thing seems like a waste of mod time and an inconvenience for everyone else.

 

Would cause too much inconvenience. With it as a high level donor perk, it would be more manageable.

With normal VB, yea. However, (cant find source right now) Matthew and Sythe have stated that our VB is basically 99% customised, so assumed changes/amendments may not be as simple as people think.

 

I think you;ve got a really good idea here, as to what donation amount required, i'd say at minimum 100$+ but as some have stated it may not be possible with the forums. I know it would create a big incentive to donate for me if I'm not already at the level because it enhances your market capabilities which is what the site is really all about

 

Inconvenience = Trouble

I can definitely see it being abused someway. There aren't many high level donors, so it would be easier to watch over/spectate.

Can you give an example of how it could be abused? You can't just state that it would be inconvenient without explaining why. There is obviously an inconvenience associated with it not being available to all members but what I don't understand is the problems that come about if that were to happen.

 

I wouldn't know how it would be abused, but there is definitely a chance of it being exploited in some way. I also think that such a power shouldn't be given out to everyone. Like WolfRunescape stated, it would give those in the market a higher advantage for being a high level donor which brings in more money to the site.

 

I'm sorry but that's bullshit. The argument "I don't know how it could be abused but it probably will" just doesn't sit well with me. The donor incentive argument is debatable but if you think about why people donate it isn't because "I want to be able to freely change the title of my own threads" because that is just lame. People do it for ranks/miniranks/avatar sizes and other cosmetics... Not to bypass the meaningless functionality block that was put in place with the sole purpose of trying to bring in more donation money.

I kinda support the idea, because it takes way TOO long for them to sometimes change the titles.
