Close the Sports Section

I have no authority or power to do anything without having to try and get a hold of the "oh-so" busy admins. It's unorganized chaos. I'm trying to make official threads for specific things, but some require speaking to a mod. I had an official Sports section Skype chat, but a few people in it weren't listening to the ideas of the majority and went of on their own. I was planning a big NFL league with a prize and everything, but one has already been started because somebody was lucky enough to get in touch with an admin faster than I was.

 

I understand your frustration because you have had a Sythe Fantasy Football idea for months now, before the sports section came to be, but why do you need an admin to hold a tourney?

Just get someone to donate in order to chip into the prize pool for the winners.

You know you can always ask me for help with something like that.

Nothing wrong with 2 Sythe fantasy football leagues with different sets of prizes and different players.

You didn't have an OFFICIAL anything chat and because somebody made or is trying to take the initiative to make a fantasy football league then let them. There's no fucking rule that disallows you from making a thread that is better organized and more promising. We're a fucking market forum that is all about presentation and organization to bring business, use those ideas to make a fantasy football league of your own instead of bitching about somebody else making one. Just because Lorenzo got in-touch with an admin before you did, that doesn't make it better than the one you could possibly create.

tl;dr stop being a bitch because somebody made a thread before you did - you can still make a thread and try to organize your own thing

two final notes:

1) Why does it matter who's in charge? If he organizes it all and what not then why not just join it? If you wanted to have a prize then fucking contribute the prize to the already existing league. I doubt the existing league will say "No thanks bro we don't want the prize"

2) Calling for a close to the sports section is just fucking retarded

 

Hell i could be a brand new user and I would still be angry about this. I'm not saying I need to be modded at all. I'm simply stating there needs to be SOME authority. Whether its an already assigned mod who communicates with the users about what we'd like in the section or somebody is given a leadership role to keep things organized. Just because I tell you that I have no authority, doesn't mean I'm suggesting I be given authority. I'm just telling you that I have given the section all I can with the current power I'm given.

 

I think Anet deserves a bit more respect than you're currently giving him. The title is obviously his frustration talking, but without Anet, there is probably no Sports Section right now at all. He was the key cog in getting it put back onto Sythe.

While this thread may be a bit rash, he has a point. From what I heard Lorenzo told FireZ that Anet was cool with him running it, which doesn't seem to be the truth. That led to his initial frustration, which is justified in my opinion.

Anet has been talking about a Sythe FF league for months now, and he took all the initiative in getting the sports section relevant - made a Skype chat for it, made numerous suggestion threads for it, hosted a successful betting thread already for it...

Anet deserves respect regardless of this thread.

I understand I am a bit angry, I'll agree making this thread was childish, but now that it's made I'd like to use it as a way to communicate with the community and try and gather and understanding of why not only the sports section is unorganized but all the off topic sections.

I just find it hard to believe nowhere in your mind you thought "oh maybe I should talk to Anet about this, because I never found out about any of it until the thread was already made. And in no way am I saying you HAVE to tell me everything you plan on doing, I just think its a bit harsh to not include me in the discussion.

 

Just because you're unhappy about the current state of the sports forum doesn't mean other users are. Go frequent another section then.

I agree there is nothing wrong, but for somebody who really wants to "see the better of the sports section" why create the friction? If I were Anet and truly cared about the section he honestly did help create - he should just join forces with the already existing group. There's no reason to fix something that ain't broken. He just wants to be the leader. He wants the recognition

 

Spur of the moment anger, he got to me on Skype too late for this thread to have been avoided.

I think he understands now that more competitions + leagues is actually a good thing for helping to keep the section alive.

The only really childish thing I saw was the title. But anger makes us all a little childish sometimes.

Lorenzo and I are talking on Skype. I'm cool with him running it and I think me getting involved will just add more fuel to the flame. I'm going to just be a part of the league and kick all your asses (in fantasy football) silently.
