Is this allowed?

I created this program following the announcement of the name clean up in order to snag some good names without having to be present at my computer.

This program will require the user to log in with their RS account, and will check constantly to see if the name is available. Once it becomes available, the program will attempt to take the name. This will require the account to be a member, and can only be done if the user has a name change available.

With the delay set to 0, a loop will typically take ~1 second, however after 10-15 requests Jagex starts to put a 5 second delay on requests and so it will often alternate between 5-6 second and 1 second loops (I think this is still the fastest method possible as new accounts cannot claim these names).



If it is allowed ... Is there demand for this? Which category should I list it in and what price should I be asking for? Obviously I'd be selling it to a limited number of people so as to ensure that there won't be too much competition.

I think it's a good idea and I would buy it if you start to sell it. Check the forums and I'm sure it'll fit some where

Technically yes; although it will probably be used for malicious means. It's a grey area.

 

Great program, maybe it is allowed because you don't cheat.
