UI's need server access

 

No -- this will never happen, save maybe Govind, who isn't around right now (and even that's a stretch.)

 

FireZ has proven himself trusted, but the difference between Matt and everyone else is Matt is already paid, so there's no reason for him to filch donation funds... no one knows if even FireZ could be tempted.

This should happen, but as stated, it'd be hard to find someone unpaid to be trusted enough for it.

 

This thread is for the issue with reaching Matthew when the automated processes do go wrong. Everything is pretty much automated already.

Why would SVU info be freely released?

I support Globals+ approving UI/UTs..

 







 

Give them server access them. Why give them global mod if they arent trustworthy?

Because there's 10 years of work that every global and Admin could then potentially screw around with. Govind was stretching it to get it. It's a lot to entrust someone with.

Govind probably will return soon and be given server access when he does.

I agree something needs to be done. I've posted a Sythe Support thread on this topic. I know he's busy and has a huge job.

Throwing myself for the "Matt's assistant" job.

Can:
-Sign legally binding contract
-Give Chain of Command information - RIP my career if I tried to take money
-All proving documents, etc.

Start me/someone with a limited amount, or have them able to do only certain amount of work until transferred and it would work fine. I understand trust issues, you need to find someone where you can cover all of the bases on them.

I understand Richard's sketchiness. It's the fucking internet. FireZ could be an old black woman and you would never be able to prove it.

 

I'm fine with waiting for user title and user image approvals, and so should everyone else.

SVU information should be given out by Admins only.

 

I support. Obviously his responsibility is higher than other staff, especially when it concerns other members, but the time between responses is too high.

 

I think there's a lot of misunderstanding when it comes to handling personal information. It's not necessarily about trust when you're dealing with a community like this. I'm not sure about this website specifically, but many other large communities I've been involved with have very strict guidelines and policies for handling personally identifiable information. Employees entering contracts and being legally bound to do/not do this and that with the information they have access to is not at all uncommon

This is not a small forum, and I'm sure much of the above applies. You can't just assign more people to handle user information and payments, it doesn't happen like that

 

I would like a admin who is active who would be able to approve UI's, although power must not fall into the wrong hands.

 

Please keep on topic, this thread is not about UI's, user titles or any other perks. Just make another thread if you have a different suggestion.

 

Well, my post was suggesting that a new head of donations would be able to process small things like that. With that being said that is supporting your suggestion.

Richard is a lawyer, or so he thinks, I'm sure he can come up with an anti-scam policy to give donation access to another administrator by requesting a photo id/passport verification and drawing up a contract that entails certain consequence if violated.

 

People have been asking for a new head of donations for years... or at least a cohead. Obviously Richard consists any lost donations worth the risk of maintaining one head of donations - Matthew. I remember talking about a dashboard, etc to give admins access to approve UIs but not mess around with other things, but it hasn't and won't happen.

 

More than one banned admin is enough to put big Rich off giving anyone access to such things.

 

I understand Sythe not wanting other people to handle the finances, that makes sense. What I don't understand is that it has been discussed previously and Nick brought it up just before - setting it up so that other admins are able to approve UIs/UTs and the like.

 

And the point is?

Read below the first sentence. There are methods to prevent such risks.
