Range staking

I've always had this idea, never actually went through with it.

So you know how you get different equipment at different range levels..but commonly staking is a lot about getting a high HP level..

So, my theory was what if I used a cannon or similar non-HP methods to get the next range levels about 3 CB levels below everyone else. For example, I'd be the first to use rune c'bow, the first to use dark bow, the first to use rune knives, dragon darts, whatever. I'd just boost my range level up a bit. Sure my HP level would suffer a bit but if my opponent is using an addy c'bow with diamond bolts and I have a rune c'bow...

Has anyone done something like this before?

 

The problem is, no one would stake you, or they would ask for an x if this gives an advantage... and if it doesn't, well it's pointless.

Most, if not all stakers look up their opponents stats on high scores before staking, if he sees that you have a great advantage, in this case your superior weapon, they probably won't duel you.

 

The dark bow method has a flaw because then you / your opponent can shield switch.

Most people who stake higher amounts are odds stakers especially when it comes to range boxing so I doubt you would get a good volume of stakes.

 

It's a cool idea, but there aren't a lot of low-leveled ranged stakers who have a decent amount of money to win from them. You would have to really understand the limits of your advantage as well, I can see you or your opponent easily overestimating your ability, leading to losses and a lack of fights.

 

Honestly, ranged staking is the least popular of the styles, especially at a lower level. Most stakers tend to either mage box (no gear, runes only, etc.), melee box (no weapons/armor), whip only, or dds/whip.

It'd more than likely be a waste of time, and you'd be better off low-level rushing.

I did it at a fairly low level but I also had defense as I'm a range tank. Was next to impossible to find a stake. I don't suggest it, you'd do better trying to find a risk fight in a pvp world/wilderness, or just going for a different build altogether.

 

Staking is a game of odds, people wont risk there odds vs yours if your rocking a rune cbow and they have a addy, unless you find a lucky noob

 

I dont think there is a lot of money in this method.
I suggest you make an account with 70ish range and 60ish hp.
Get good at obstacles and use stalls.
I think those stats get the most stakes, I used to have a ranger around those stats.
