[Food] Sara Lee - Sweet Hawaiian Rolls

I wanted to try these out for a while now and when I saw that they were 50 cents cheaper, I jumped on that deal. Now I know why they were cheaper.

Edit: The price was $2.50, so I got it for $2. By the way, Sara Lee has been stepping her game up in the pastry isle. You should see a lot of snack cakes by Sara Lee. I've had some of these, and they didn't taste as good as the other brands.



If you haven't had sweet hawaiian rolls, I suggest you at least try them in some form. You can eat them plain (a few seconds in the microwave makes them taste goo plain), or use them as a hot dog or hamburger bun (you can find these at some locations, otherwise you can make sliders or use 2-3 of these ones as a hot dog bun). Their added touch of sweetness adds a minor amount of flavor to the buns. That said, the king (and only brand I know of) of hawaiian rolls is King's Hawaiian. If you try it, get that brand.

Onto this product, the sweetness was minimal, if present at all. THese tasted like I was eating regular dinner rolls - just bread. I don't like eating plain bread with the exception of King's Hawaiian brand rolls. High 2/5 because it's not what it's advertised to be. They aren't sweet. They do have 2g less sugar than King's Hawaiian's 5g of sugar, but it may as well be 5g less sugar.

King's Hawaiian is where it's at. It tastes like a trip to Maui in your mouth (okay it's not THAT good, but you get my point).

As a Hawaiian native I can say Kings Hawaiian rolls are the best for your money hands down.
