[Food] Dominos - Handmade Pan Pizza + Jalapeno Pineapple Chicken + Crunch Cake

Three reviews in one. Unfortunately, there will only be one picture because we were hungry and we ate all of the pizza. What you're about to see is a reject Domino's pizza from a bad location. Roll it!



I think those are just old jalapenos.



We'll start with the pizza and work our way to the desert. (Note: the pizza I am reviewing had a lot more of cheese and sauce). If you don't like crusts (I don't know why anyone would dislike Domino's crust - it's my favorite part of Dominos) then you're in luck. These pizzas have "no crusts" and they have a caramelized edge that tastes good, but I'd rather have a garlic-buttery sodium crust then no crust any day. Even Pizza Hut has a garlic-butter crust which made their pizza edible.

Regular vs. Handmade
Sauce > Sauce (I think they use the same sauce, but the bread takes away the flavor)
Crust > No crust (delicious)
Bread > Bread
Price > Price (regular is cheaper)

Unless you're getting it free, don't get the handmade crust pizzas. There is no advantage to getting it, and at all the Domino's locations I went to, I was the only guy with a handmade pizza so I was able to point my order out every time. 2/5 because the pizza is fine, but stick to the regular Domino's we know and love. Normal price: $7.99, but I got it for free.

Jalapeno Pineapple Chicken: I was surprised by the flavor. I was not going to try this product out, but since I got it for half the price, I went ahead and tried out the best of the specialty chicken flavors. My first bite - I made sure to grab a bit of everything. The cheese is caramelized, but can be a bit burnt so watch out for that. The jalapenos and pineapples were cooked well and made the chicken taste like Chinese food, and the chicken itself had amazing breading and tasted simply delightful. I ate more of this chicken, wondering why the girls were acting up and putting up a fuss. Something tasted magical and spicy, and I know the jalapenos weren't making it spicy. Upon further inspection, there is mango habanero sauce on these as well! That sauce was great and actually added a bit of a kick to it (a very small one). The flavor was all there. 5/5 for me; I used to think the price should be lowered, but now I think it's fair. Maybe $4.99 would be a great price. The price for these are $5.99 but I got it for $2.99. Buy it, though. Buy it.

The chocolate lava crunch cake, or whatever is called, is a very nice item. It's a chocolate cake with a crunchy outside, warm fudge on the inside, and powdered sugar on top. Nothing else to say. High 3/5 ONLY because of the price. These small (3-inch diameter? Something like that) cakes go for $2.00 each and you have to buy two of them now. So you're going to end up spending $4.00 to try these cakes. I'd miss them, unless you were getting free food from them.

I recommend you guys try the Jalapeno Pineapple Chicken if that sounds like something you'd like. You can order it without pineapple, if you don't like it. It's surprisingly good.

It had to be something national. Domino's is the best of the national chains, and handmade was likely something people haven't had. Come on, give me a break! I paid $7 for all of this.

 

those Japalenos seem really old tho. Like I can smell the vinegar and cockroach scent from here

 

They do. The Domino's I was reviewing was from a much better neighborhood. This one looked absolutely horrible by comparison. I can do another cheap pizza place that's only located in the Southeast but it has a wonderful item for spicy lovers.

Although it looked horrible, the flavor wasn't that much worse than the better Domino's we had earlier on.

Good luck! It's much easier if you're genetically thin. Then you're able to do things like eat junk food constantly.
