RuneScape integrating Twitch!

Twitch have joined up with RuneScape to bring an in-game interface which you can use to sign in to twitch and stream. You'll also be able to scroll through streams to choose, bringing thousands of potential viewers for streamers.

 

Wow!! That's awesome. Is this in the works or done already? Haven't logged into Rs 3 in weeks, been all 07.

 

It was in BTS July, so coming soon I'd imagine!

 

It's cool, I guess. RuneScape isn't even close to the top in terms of Twitch viewers, though.

 

doesnt really make sence to waste all this money to make ingame feautes when it will be shitty performance compared to streaming programs

 

Not gonna lie, that's pretty impressive.

 

How good would the twitch integration on RS be compared to say OBS. Because if it lacks a lot of features OBS has, that would be pretty unfortunate.

 

I really like that, it makes streaming much easier. I'm not saying it was hard before, but people are very lazy, so this could potentially give RuneScape a lot of publicity.

 

Wow this is really great as it allows streaming to be more convenient. It will definitely also bring more traffic to rs streams and the community itself. Great update!

This is great for RS and for many max caped players that would share their experience with the rookies =)

 

A waste of time/money on twitch's end, RS doesn't really have any potential as a streaming game.

Watched a livestream with Mod Simon and Mod James today testing out the feature. Long live Runeshark!

So what I gather is:

• It will stream from RS, including webcam interface, mic options and will play sound from pandora/spotify/itunes etc.
• Wont record bank pin interfaces
• There are 5 quality options, when selected it tests your bandwith and chooses a bitrate
• Clicking on a stream from the menu brings it up in a new tab, not in the RS client/window
• Twitch chat will appear in the chat box under a new tab

RuneScape was also appearing as the top promoted game on Twitch, hopefully the use and popularity will grow with this feature.

It's amazing that RuneScape is supporting the Live Stream community.
