How secure is buying a runescape account here?

Hi, brief intro, been a long time since I used sythe and a while since I played RuneScape too, I played OSRS for a little bit but not too much.

So I'm looking at buying an OSRS account, BUT I'm worried that the seller will recover the account back by submitting an account recovery or something, I'm not quite sure how it works these days.

Could somebody possibly tell me how the current account recovery system works, and how secure and safe my account would be once I purchase it. I know that accounts are all linked to an email address these days, so does that mean once I have the account linked to my email address, is it immediately my account and there is no way of the seller recovering it back?

Any detailed accurate information would be much appreciated

You could always ask an OMM to do a recovery test before purchasing.

This minimizes the risks of an account being recovered.

 

It'll be hard finding an OMM that'll do a recovery test these days. It will most likely get locked. Accounts are always, always recoverable by the original owner no matter where you buy it (here, PlayerAuctions and so on).

I would suggest buying an account only from a bery trusted user like a staff member, OMM and so on. Alternatively you can make an account and pay someone to train it to your desired levels.

 

If you buy an account, always use an OMM, trust me. Ive been there.

What you are saying contradict each other. Using a OMM doesn't eliminate the risk of a recovery.

 

Like someone said above I ALWAYS suggest creating a character, tie a credit card/membership on it full recoveries, then hire someone to TRAIN it to what you want. Its much safer. Imo

 

The original owner can always recover the account. Your best option is to only buy an account from trustworthy users who can prove they are the original owner of the account.

 

Accounts can be recovered by the original owner at any point, even if you have set the Authenticator, Recovery Questions, Registered Email, PIN, and payment method.

 

The thing about buying accounts is that even if a guy is legit, or atleast has vouches. In the future, they could get the opportunity to scam a lot. For example (I've seen this happen), somebody may have 500 vouches and scamming $20 wouldn't be worth it, but if they get the chance to scam $20,000, they may proceed to do so.

Concluding from this, they could recover all accounts/payments and everything they have sold, as they have nothing to lose as they will be already banned.

If you get my point, you'll see, buying accounts is never ever safe, no matter who it is.
