Champions to play pre-20?

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone experienced in leveling smurfs has any advice on what champions are easiest to play without runes or masteries?

Most importantly in the jungle role.

Any opinions are much appreciated!

 

For jungle, Warwick is the most obvious one. Fiddle is pretty good aswell, as long as you get a good leash and make sure you don't waste any pots you should be fine. Other than that just remember that the enemies don't have runes either so it's not like they'll be a step ahead of you.

Another reminder, when you hit level 20 make sure you saved up IP for some runes.

 

Yeah, not sure when I'm going to stop buying champions and save up for runes. I might just save up for runes now and just play the same few champs while I'm leveling -- by the time I'm level 30 I'll be back into the swing of things and very good at those champions.

Then while I'm grinding out the lower divisions I'll buy a couple day IP boost or something and just buy up champions like crazy haha.

 

Master Yi OP

 

I've been having a lot of fun with Riven. I've ran into my share of yis. Some do well, some fail. Such is the life of a Yi...

 

Warwick, Yi, and Pantheon are all solid in the jungle without runes.

 

If it's your second time levelling, it's far more fun to go and lane and just faceroll and end games faster.

I've been going Riven with Ravenous Hydra/Brutalizer
even the occasional Zephyr just because

Kind of funny literally tripling everyone's CS, lol.

 

On Riven, you farm champions, not minions.

 

Yi is the obvious one, somebody also mentioned warwick, who is tanky, outputs a little damage and also has a heal-sustain Q, which makes him simple to play even without runes.

Kayle would be pretty easy too, basically most champions that are cheap! Lol

 

Gonna mess around with some Yi today I think. I've ran into some AD Yi's that managed to get pretty fed, kinda scary (and I imagine quite fun )

Never did like Warwick. He's more of a "I need a team to follow up". I've got no problems playing tanky kind of junglers, I just like to have reliable teammates that will actually go in when I go in. Very rarely does this happen outside of organized 5s, lol.

Still thinking of a good jungler...an assassin or heavy damage dealer..

Maybe Shyvana? I feel like she would survive the jungle quite well without runes/masteries and if you built damage+frozen mallet I could see that being pretty fun.

 

I play quite a bit of Shyvana, and after the feral flare nerf and the nerf to life steal quints way back when, I feel like she doesn't have enough sustain, and her clear speed is ok, but not close the many other meta junglers at the moment. The fact that you wont even have runes for attack speed and such make it even worse. Her ganks are pretty mediocre pre 6 unless the laner has a reliable stun (plus you are playing with noobs most of the time...how reliable can they be?) .


In my opinion some carry junglers, Yi or even Nocturne can do very well with some simple runes, basically some attack speed marks.

I haven't seen a Nocturne in a long time, he certainly wasn't played much around the time I stopped playing. He's making a return now?

 

Noc has always been a strong jungler. His clear speed is good and his ability to build full damage means you can carry with that epic ult.

 

No one mentioned Nunu?

 

I thought Nunu wasn't in the best of spots right now?
