Free graphic design programs! [for beginners]

for people just starting out would you suggest photoshop or gimp? as far as like user interfaces go

 

if you plan on sticking with it and progressing your skills i would suggest photoshop. but if you just need some quick graphics from time to time i would say gimp or photoshop cs2. (you can do alot more in Photoshop)

Has anybody else used the Cs2 key I provided? To my best knowledge that's the global one that's provided with the free copy - anybody not found it worked?

 

I think I'm going to try photoshop.
