Why do some people drink alone ?

Maybe they are very depressed and want to get drunk without other people telling them not to ...

 

I often sit at home and have a few drinks, especially while I play cod or the misses is at work lol

 

I used to have a friend, he missed socializing, and many things. He was depressed. And so he drunk alone. A + B = C.

 

I often times drank with my roommate and alone on multiple occasions when playing games and also smoke alone when no one else could join me so just how it is sometime I suppose

 

Because drinking is fun with or without other people.

 

Drunk code is best code.

 

I'm actually not a fan of being drunk. It may be that I've always been super tired and thus just want to go to bed but it really just dulls my intelligence and that's never a fun time.

 

Love being drunk (but really only socially) as I end up doing stupid/funny stuff and enjoy when reminiscing over these good/hilarious times. Mainly with my two best mates as when it's us 3 everything always goes to shit.

Plus I'm at Uni so my body clock is so fucked all year I normally go to sleep in the mornings and am always tired.

I drink alone all the time at bars. It's a relaxing passtime during my days off. I enjoy sitting, drowning recent sorrows in a bottle of jack, and judging people as they act like complete idiots in public. Sometimes I wonder why some of these people live the life they do, how they're not ashamed to be such simple and ignorant morons.

 

Like once a month or so I'll hit a good bar here on Long Island alone...on purpose. I mean I have friends I go out with other nights, but don't knock the greatness of going out alone. The first couple of times I had to force myself to do it because it was incredibly awkward going out without your "pack" aka "comfort zone". Once you kinda let go of your inhibitions its really a great time, between experiencing going out with a group of friends and going out alone it is far easier to meet new people and girls rolling solo!

My 2 cents, give it a shot....it'll suck the first couple of times but after that you can have fun with it!

I'm just not all that into social situations and shit. I'd rather have a nice conversation than be piss drunk.

 

I've done it once because I get nervous public speaking and I had to present a speech. I got pretty drunk and presented it fine and got a 87% on it.

Only time I've done it, I'm scared to turn into an alcoholic so I just don't even consider drinking by myself other than that though.

I never get pissed alone, i don't think i could enjoy it either (unless partying with others)

 

I like to drink while I'm working just to relax a bit (easy to drink and work when you're programming and don't have to deal with clients during that time). I don't get drunk, I just have one or two here and there.

There are lots of reasons people drink alone.

 

But yeah some people like the drunk, similar to people getting high alone I guess. But IMO being drunk is something you can only do socially.

 

Drink because beer is good? Or because its Friday at lunch and you want to relax a bit before you go back to work? Plenty of reasons. Does not mean you have to be an alcoholic.

 

Some people just like to drink. Some people more than others. Often it's genetic.

I would argue that it is more about environment than genetics.

 

It's just in their personality to be alone as much as it is in your personality to want companions.
