Legacy Beta Discussion

Well everyone, it's almost time. Soon the legacy beta will be released as it has hit the promised date of June 16th for release.

Use this thread to talk about your thoughts on the Beta. What do you like? What do you dislike? What needs tweaking? Will you use this in lieu of the Evolution of Combat if it is implemented to the live game?

I wasn't that excited until now, I'm actually excited to try out PvP and see what it's like. AGS spec plox :nuts:

 

I will do everything in Beta, at first I will try PvP, then PvM, Dung, etc... And hopefully they bring back old armours

 

Yeah at least they're talking about changing the armor reqs like Rune back to 40 defense. But a lot of people are complaining about that so who knows.

But yeah, I'll do PvM, Dung, Slayer, etc. Can't wait. I know it won't totally be Pre-EoC, but I'm excited to give it a whirl.

My initial thoughts- I like it. Weapons and armour likely going to need to be refined and scaled further.

I do, however, wish that 100 percent prayer protection would return to PvM in Legacy mode. Or maybe 75 percent. I realize in EoC that would be incredibly OP but not so much in legacy.

PvP was pretty fun. AGS was pretty OP lol.

Nice to see the masses in the wild again, I hope if legacy does get implemented that is what its main hook is, pking. We need that community thriving again (I don't know what EoC pking is like or how healthy it is).

Old interface probably my favorite part. So organized and I can find things easily again.

It's not compeltely Pre-Eoc, as I knew it wouldn't be. but I enjoy it.

 

My opinion: Its absolute shit.

 

It's about what I expected to be. Despite there being no say from Jagex that it'd be Pre-Eoc or a complete replication of Pre-Eoc, people got way too excited and thought it'd be complete Pre-EoC. So yeah, for those people, I can imagine them hating it.

Honestly I'd be content playing EoC with Revolution enabled but on the old interface. The old interface is something I want to play on again.

 

I think that it is something a lot of people want it has the potential to increase the user rate

Just tried it out, and it's exactly how I expected it. It's a hideous 'Frankenstein's monster' creation out of EoC and Pre-EoC. I suppose there is some potential, but it definitely isn't worth any hype. The balancing is atrocious.

 

So true... this is just as boring as EOC. I won't play this and 3-4 other people also trying hated this so much lol, they were all leaving haha and going to oldschool again.

 

I tried it and it was very fun my max hit with ags was 890

I think they are working towards something good for the community. I feel like this will change allot of things and we can start to see more players into the game of RuneScape.

 

Would of been easier for a 2011 Servers (lol)

 

Then Jagex would have to maintain 4 different versions of the game, if you include Runescape Classic. That is not a viable option. Also tons of people didn't want to restart in 07, would be the same deal in 2011 servers.

 

I was expecting way worse.. Don't get me wrong I don't like it in the beginning, but they did a way better job then I thought. Also something funny, hover over the protect from melee prayer in legacy, big typo lol.

The lag was so crippling both times I attempted to try it out so I honestly couldn't say.

It'll probably be too little too late though tbh. The animations still look like shit, it'll be worse than abilities for xp and bossing, prayers are only partial protect, etc ;/
