    Working out...

I've been getting sick of chicken as my main source of protein. What's some other proteins that are good for pre-workout? Also, been waiting an hour before working out, hopefully that's good enough.

Some notes I've wrote, hopefully they are accurate..

-Minimum 1 Vegetable within pre-workout meals
-Wait 45-1hr to start your workout after a meal
    -Meals must include 40-60g Protein / 60-80g Carbs / 20-30g Fat

Maybe even post all your meals so I know whats working for you. Thanks.

    cutting = tone up

OP the most important macro-nutrient before your workout is probably carbohydrates. It helps replenish your glycogen levels and provide energy. A mixture of complex and simple carbs is recommended so that you have some instant energy but also some is released over time, during your workout. Protein also helps, for example a whey protein shake but I only take one per day so I take mine afterwards instead.

You are bulking then. While I am not the most knowledgeable on dieting, I think you are perhaps over thinking it having certain ratios for your pre-workout meal but that's just my personal opinion. While sticking to a certain regime is beneficial, the benefits over taking a more laxxed approach to it aren't worth it in my opinion as they are really only minimal. Along with your physical health you also have to take into account your mental health and if you are stressing over things like this, your mental health is suffering. I'm a firm believer in IIFYM, as long as you get your calories and your macro-nutrients met at the end of the day then it doesn't matter. Each to their own however.

Makes complete sense man, you're looking to bulk up and gain some weight.

You can google workouts of such things since I'm not sure how advanced you are and how much you've lifted and what not. But if you're just beginning, I would get into the dumbells and get acclimated with those.

Once you feel comfortable with higher weights, move onto the free weights with bars from certain lifts, don't completely abandon dumbells cause you can use those for every single workout.

I would check out these 2 following websites once you get comfortable to decide what types of workouts you want to do. I give you these workouts because there are so many variations you can put in and what not that they help you through it.

    http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/workout.htm

http://musclepharm.com/athletes/ You gotta register for this one but well worth it.

I follow buff dude's website and their workout program. I'm currently off it since I will be having surgery soon so can't really workout.

You also need to increase protein intake and higher calorie meals. Stick to steaks and chickens and some tuna for the meat. I can go into more detail if you'd like and give you what to eat and what not during the day but that's something you can google and they have personalized meal plans that will help you. Google "Bulking Meal Plan Bodybuilding" and there should be many results!

Also, if you're looking to get serious, i would get on some proteins such as creatine or BCAA's and stuff like that. I can help more with that as well since I can go on and on with what you could take so if you need some more specific help, hit me up. I would start with a whey protein and a preworkout then could possibly move onto more in depth proteins and such.

Lemme know if you have any more questions.

make sure you walk to the gym very slowly so you dont waste any carbohydrate energy that u can use for lifting. i recommend driving and then being carried to each machine. this is what the pros do

    - Fish
6g protein per ounce + Omega3 fatty acids

    - Nuts

I used to use 95% lean mince and make burgers and have wholewheat buns and make a salsa to garnish it with lol...

Good in protein and fairly low in fat.

It's all about what you feel. Also, check out the foods that enhance your protein digestion, and try those too. After those I think you'd be good with a 60 min rest :)

30-60 minutes is the supposed wait time so 60 mins is fine.

You know that you don't have to be spot on with your timing.. Just eat your carbohydrate-rich pre workout meal and when you feel that it's fully digested and you're energized, then it means you're ready.

Carb load about 2 hours before you workout so when you workout and take a PWO you're in a fasted state. If you use a PWO don't eat for about 2 and half hours before or you won't get good results.

As far as protein intake you should be eating protein and calorie dense foods. Quinoa, Eggs, Chicken, NF Greek Yogurt, Cottage Cheese, and any kind of beef are high in calories and protein. If you're looking to gain size you should be at about a 500 kcal surplus every day while hitting all of you're macros. Use mens 1 a days to get your micros as well. Somebody above said creatine and BCAA's as protein but those aren't proteins. A good micronized creative monohydrate would be nice if you took about a tbsp a day. BCAA's, glutamine, and aminos are nice to add to a post workout shake.

You know, you get all the protein you need from a nice egg-filled breakfast. Any excess protein goes out the other end.

If you're working out your body can synthesize a really large amount of protein. What you're saying is just stereotypical broscience.

I repeat: do not run at all in order to preserve energy that can be used to convert into muscle. It is best to drive/be carried/electrical scooter everywhere
