Pure General...

Hey there I have a lower level pure and I was curious as to if I should level prayer up to get a firecape or not. Current stats are 50 range, 57 mage, 34 cb level... I can't decide what kind of a pure to make it and I was just wondering if it's worth getting 44 range to get a fcape. Let me know your opinions.

 

Concentrate on better stats before worrying about prayer and fire capes.

 

Depending on the style of the pure, fire capes are boss. They're great on low level obby maulers/60 atk pures.

Firecapes are great , but prayer is a lot more cmb levels and imo - not worth it because the cmb levels you get from the prayer u can get higher strength and hit way more then the str bonus the fc gives, IMO.

 

You should defenetly lvl up, people with 70 range cant even jad unless they know how to. So please get that range up

 

I've done jad on a 55 range account before. I wouldn't do jad until I hit 60 range anyways. I'm just asking what kind of pure should I make this?

 

50 range, 43 prayer is a decent baseline for a fire cape @people mentioning 70 range, as long as you know what you're doing and have adequate supplies.

But anyway, it's really up to you. Figure out which kind of pure you think you like best (watching PK vids/streams is a good way to get an idea) and go with that. Personally, I enjoy ranged/2h pures, so that'd be 80+ range with 60 attack and high strength.

Also, a note about prayer - because ultimate strength gives +15% strength, it's the equivalent of having a 15% higher strength level. This means that somewhere in the high 80s for strength, prayer levels become more valuable to pures than strength levels.

 

id go 60 atk pure, fighting low lvls bring in no income

 

Although firecape is one of the nicest capes in 07, it isn't really worth getting the prayer levels for it pking wise. Too many combats for small bonuses.

 

From my experience of playing, and pking.. I've found that staying 1 prayer doesn't really help you out much. You find that you'll be fighting someone with stats inferior to yours, but their prayer gives them the additional strength / attack boost. Where their strength will now be around the same as yours with the prayer boost, their attack/accuracy will be higher than yours. So I've always found that it's in my interest to get prayer on my account. Even if it is for a firecape/quests to make the whole process a little simpler.

 

Yeah I decided to go with it and get prayer. Leveled up to 44 for eagle eye and I'm at 40 cb. Gonna be either a 60 att blitzer or a gmaul blitzer. Working on the fcape now.

 

Sounds like you're a range/mage pure so a f cape isn't even nessacary.

 

Firecape would be nice on any account, really. It is a nice accomplishment and boost!

 

how does it sound like i'm a range mage pure? I could level up the combat stats and the range/mage levels i've gotten won't change the cb much? Range and mage help with killing bosses for quests better than melee anyways.

 

I would level it up, fight higher leveled PvM's if you want and face higher level opponents in PKing. Higher level opponents= higher level armor= more GP

 

Fire capes on pures are like sports cars in normal traffic. Get one, you won't regret it. And I can guarantee that.
