they took me to varrok palace in the back room and when i dropped some stuff (shit items i knew it was a lure) it spawned uri about 300 times so i couldn't pick my items lol?

 

When you perform the emote the first time a uri will attack you, after killing it and performing it again a second uri spawns to give you a casket or another clue.

Spam clicking the emote spawns a shit load of them, I did this by accident once and it was patched around 2009 I believe. It must have been a patch they missed with 07.

If they're saying that they're likely trying to throw you off in an attempt to stop the method being leaked. I've already explained how it's done and I wouldn't recommend you try it as it's classed as item scamming, not luring.

 

I have a pure is correct, they made you spam the emote to spawn a ton of the NPC.

 

Noob question, but what is uri?

 

Uri Molotov is the man who delivers the next part of a treasure trail when the player has completed an emote clue. To summon him the player needs to perform a specified emote in the proper location while wearing (or sometimes not wearing) a specified attire. The player must talk to him while still wearing the required attire upon which he will reward them with a Scroll Box or Casket and utter a seemingly nonsensical phrase. This phrase has no bearing on the treasure trail.
On hard trails, a double agent who looks identical to Uri will appear first and must be killed before Uri will appear. The emote equipment is not required when fighting the agent but will be required to speak to Uri once he appears. It will be required to summon him again, however.

They obvs haven't patched the uri spawn as mentioned. Although why would you fall for dropping your items?

He quite clearly said that he didn't drop much, with the intent to learn about the lure.

 

Lure has been patched, check 07 updates.
