I don't think vouches are the way to go either, that information can already be obtained, I don't think it shows the person is more verified than anyone else, it seems like you are mixing up verified with trustworthy. Just because someone verifies who they are doesn't mean they are a trustworthy person, I don't think the rank is intended as that. I think it just shows that they have a little more to lose than someone with the same exact vouches who isn't verified because if they scam you get some of their RL info, it is a little bit of a deterrent but I don't think anyone feels it deems them as trustworthy.

There is a highly trusted rank reserved for those who deserve it, the SVU rank shouldn't be confused with it. I don't see any issues as is, take it for what it is.

 

If you read the first post of the thread you would notice that I said that the rank is misleading to new users, which is why it's presentation should be changed. I was brainstorming, and as you can see, the thread is dead. Even if I came up with an ideal solution, it still wouldn't be changed.

I disagree here, its already too intrusive. I'm not sending my SSN and a sperm sample out. Even if you do get the information the police aren't going to do shit unless its a large case with a lot of proof. A name attached to a paypal address and phone number should be fine, I think things like scanned ID's are pushing it a bit too far and putting people at risk while not accomplishing anything.
