    What software to scan hard drive for errors?
    What's the best software that provides accurate results for free or paid version that can scan an external hard drive or internal hard drive for any errors that would have to RMA back to the manufacturer?

    Bad sectors
    read write errors

    etc

    Look up ChrystalDiskInfo, I'm not entirely sure of all the features but it may be what you're looking for.

    What software to scan hard drive for errors?
    The base software that comes with Windows is fine.

    My Computer > Right click the drive you want to check > Properties > Tools > Check drive for errors > tick both boxes > will ask you to restart > restart, then just wait. Could take some time.

    what make is your hdd? i know seagate and WD have their own programs to check for errors, that are free.
